HONG KONG, Nov 22, 2024 – (ACN Newswire) – Tat Hong Equipment Service Co., Ltd. (“Tat Hong” or the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) (Stock Code: 2153), the first foreign-owned tower crane service provider established in the PRC, has announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 September 2024 (the “Period”).
During the Period, the Group recorded revenue of approximately RMB340.9 million (2023: RMB358.6 million). Loss attributable to equity shareholders of the Company was RMB36.2 million (2023: RMB20.4 million). Such increase in loss was mainly attributable to the decrease in the average monthly service price of tower cranes per tonne metres (TM) in use from RMB225 toRMB208, thereby affecting the Group’s revenue.
Total tonne meters (TM) in use by the Group increased to 1,637,740 for the Period from 1,594,911 in the previous same period. As at 30 September 2024, the Group had 327 projects in progress with total outstanding contract value at approximately RMB444.6 million and 47 projects on hand with expected total contract value at approximately RMB235.1 million.
For the six months ended 30 September 2024, global economic recovery had slowed down and the mainland China economic downward pressure had been significant. Due to insufficient market demand and decline in the average monthly tower crane service price per TM, market competition was intense for the construction machinery industry. To cope with the slow recovery of the domestic construction industry and the persistently weak macro economy, plus to boost future income, the Group had actively adjusted its strategies, restructured business layout and expanded business overseas during the Period.
Responding to the national and international calls to promote green energy and support enterprises in accelerating transformation, the Group set up a Clean Energy Division in 2023 to focus on expanding clean energy businesses including nuclear power plants. At the same time, the Group had actively shifted to focus on thermal power plant projects. It expects revenue generated from these projects on hand to be reflected in its future results. With the new subsidiary in Guangzhou, the Group had deepened coverage in the Greater Bay Area. The Group also speeded up expansion in Indonesia, with a joint venture with a local partner in 2024 after years of careful strategic planning. With rich experience in operating business in Indonesia, the partner is expected to give the Group the support it needs to expand the Indonesian market.
During the Period, the Group continued to expand its medium-to-large tower crane fleet. As at the end of the Period, it managed a total of 1,193 tower cranes, the second largest fleet in the PRC tower crane service market. With such a strong tower crane fleet, the Group has been able to focus on medium-to-large construction projects, providing them with comprehensive services with tower cranes that afford a wide range of lifting capacities. The considerable number of medium-to-large tower cranes the Group owns also give it advantage in bidding for larger and more complicated projects, and as such, allowing it to increase revenue from and the profit margins of future projects.
Mr. Sean Yau, CEO of Tat Hong Equipment Service Co., Ltd., said: “Recently, the Chinese government has introduced a comprehensive package of incremental policies to expand effective investment, stimulate consumption demand, attract investment, support industrial upgrade, ease enterprises’ difficulties and issues, implement fiscal and financial measures, and stabilize the real estate market. It is evident that the country is increasing fiscal support and charting a clear course of recovery for all industries. Moreover, there is still strong demand in the domestic infrastructure and energy sector. That plus the fast-growing infrastructure markets in the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia have provided the Group with huge business development opportunities.”
Mr. Roland Ng, Chairman of Tat Hong Equipment Service Co., Ltd., said: “The present pace of market recovery in China is sluggish, but with the new focus on high-quality growth, it is expected to gradually get back on track. We will keep our eyes on the fast-changing global market environment and adjust our operational and geographical strategies accordingly. At home in the PRC, we will seize the new opportunities brought by the rapid development of clean and green energy. Abroad, as the first foreign-funded tower crane service provider set up in the PRC, we will continue to take advantage of our brand reputation, rich industry experience, mature execution skills, profound technical strength and solid customer base to help us ‘go global’. With support from the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative and other policies encouraging enterprises to venture overseas, the Group will push to expand into more overseas markets.”

The “City Companion” Community Alliance on Promoting Mental Health, established by the Auxiliary Medical Service, the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service, the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service, the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), the SideBySide and the Mental Health Association of Hong Kong, held its Joyful Companion Wellness Carnival today (November 23). The carnival featured a variety of activities, including game booths, a health sharing session and health consultations, with a view to promoting public awareness of the importance of physical and mental well-being.
The launching ceremony was officiated by the Director of Health, Dr Ronald Lam; Legislative Council Member Dr Tik Chi-yuen; and the President of the HKMU, Professor Paul Lam. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Lam said that the Government has long been attaching great importance to mental health of members of the public and strives to conduct promotion and public education for all ages. In terms of prevention, the public can browse the “Shall We Talk” online platform to have a better understanding of mental health. To identify those who are in need at an early stage, the Government has launched the “18111 – Mental Health Support Hotline”, and encourages those who might have mental health needs and their carers to call for timely support.
Addressing the ceremony, Professor Lam expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Alliance for the support from all parties in raising public awareness of physical and mental health. In response to initiatives promoting mental health in “The Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address” and to reflect the tripartite collaboration among the Government, the community and the universities, the Alliance has proactively organised a range of activities over the past six months, including school education, student training, community outreach, and other mental health support services, benefiting over 3 300 individuals.
Through this community carnival, the Alliance hopes to convey a message of facing mental health issues with optimism and positivity, reducing social stigmas towards mental illness, and encouraging mutual support in creating a healthy and harmonious community.

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), Mr Charles Ng, spoke at the Lugano Finance Forum in Switzerland on November 19 (Lugano time). The gathering, which focused on asset management, investment tools and fundamental analysis, gathered a diverse array of investors and financial professionals. Mr Ng spoke in the panel discussion titled “Navigating Global Finance: Lessons from Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, and Hong Kong”.
During the discussion, Mr Ng emphasised Hong Kong’s pivotal role as a premier global asset and wealth management hub, in light of recent developments and policies that significantly bolster its competitive edge.
Mr Ng stated, “As highlighted in the recent Policy Address delivered by our Chief Executive in October, we are committed to further cementing Hong Kong’s status as an international asset and wealth management centre. The Policy Address introduced vital measures, such as expanding cross-boundary financial services and enhancing green finance, aimed at attracting global investors and creating a vibrant and supportive environment for wealth management firms to thrive.”
Furthermore, during his visit to London, Lugano, Milan and Paris from November 17 to 22, Mr Ng engaged in meetings and events, including the one with the Head of International Relations of the AIFO, the Italian Association of Family Offices, Mr Emanuele Giangreco, and President, Italy-Hong Kong Association, Mr Riccardo Fuochi, to explore avenues to strengthen business relations between Hong Kong and Europe.
“It was a pleasure to have met the representatives of the InvestHK’s Family Office team and to have had the opportunity to discuss possible areas of co-operation, in order to foster mutual understanding between the Italian and Hong Kong family offices.” Mr Emanuele Giangreco said.
“Hong Kong’s strategic position as a gateway between East and West, coupled with its transparent regulatory framework and business-friendly tax regime, offers unparalleled opportunities for businesses aiming to expand their presence in Asia,” Mr Riccardo Fuochi said.
As a member of the Network of Family Office Service Providers, Deloitte Hong Kong has helped facilitate high-level meetings with family office representatives and wealth managers. In these engagements, InvestHK showcased Hong Kong’s unparalleled advantages and strategic initiatives tailored for global family offices. Notably, one such meeting was conducted at the London office of Mishcon de Reya, a renowned private client law firm known for its close collaboration with some of the world’s most high-profile international ultra-high-net-worth families.
During the meeting in Milan, Partner of Deloitte, Mr Olderigo Fantacci, who is leading the Deloitte corridor between Hong Kong and Italy family offices, emphasised the potential investment opportunties for both sides. “The family offices business today has a lot of similarities to the private equity business during the 1980s and 1990s. Few people knew what it was and where it could go. Family offices investments are the new frontier and, considering the family business tradition of Italy and Hong Kong, a structured corridor with the support of Hong Kong Government bode well for fruitful and prosperous connections leading to a reinvigorated mutual flow of investment between the two economies”.
Through these international engagements in Lugano, London, Milan and Paris, InvestHK continues to demonstrate Hong Kong’s robust infrastructure, strategic initiatives, and commitment to excellence in asset and wealth management. These efforts are complemented by ongoing collaborations with global partners, ensuring the city remains at the forefront of the international financial community.

Meteo: brutto anticiclone in arrivo! Nubi, piogge e nebbie prossima settimana
I cieli saranno spesso nuvolosi almeno fino a giovedì.

Possibili effetti sull’Italia
Stabilità meteorologica fino a Mercoledì 27 novembre
Meteo: Ora tocca all’Appennino centrale, gelo e neve

L’urlo meteo dell’inverno è pronto a scuoterci

Entrambi i sistemi potrebbero contribuire a spingere masse d’aria gelida verso l’Europa meridionale, incentivando ulteriormente l’instabilità climatica e favorendo precipitazioni nevose in diverse zone del Paese.

Arriva altra pioggia

AI-Driven Personalization and Accessibility Will Be Key to the Future of Higher Education,” Say Indore’s Leading Educators at D2L’s Academic Roundtable.
Empowering Inclusive and Personalized Learning Experiences Through Technology and Innovation
D2L, a leading learning management system (LMS) provider, successfully concluded its academic roundtable on “Integrating AI and Ensuring Accessibility for Modern Higher Education Learners”. The roundtable successfully brought together key industry professionals including educators and administrators to discuss actionable strategies for creating inclusive, personalized and accessible learning experiences. The session focused on how institutions can enhance learning through innovative approaches and ensure that all students, regardless of physical or cognitive abilities benefit from these advances.
The event began with a discussion led by Dr. Sambhavi Chandrashekar, Global Accessibility lead, D2L. She said “At D2L, we strive to ‘reach every learner’ regardless of their age, ability or location. We don’t just offer a one-size-fits-all LMS; instead, we build tailored solutions that address specific challenges. With online learning and LMS, education becomes accessible to learners of any age or condition. We ensure our platform works for everyone, adapting to diverse needs.” She further stated, “Whether a student has a physical, cognitive or sensory disability or faces other unique circumstances, we are committed to providing the tools, resources and support they need to thrive. By putting accessibility at the core of our product design and development, we aim to redefine what’s possible in the world of education and empower a new generation of diverse, confident learners.”
Dr. Prem Das Maheshwari, Regional Director – South Asia, D2L, further enriched the discussion by highlighting AI and technology’s transformative impact on education. He noted “Today’s education system is being transformed by generative AI (GenAI), predictive data analytics, and LMSs, making learning more accessible, personalized and efficient. GenAI enables ethical and engaging learning experiences through adaptive quizzes and assignments, fostering regular practice. Predictive analytics leverages LMS data to identify students excelling and those needing additional support, allowing educators to customize assignments based on individual learning levels. This ensures tailored intervention, improving outcomes for all learners.” He then emphasized “Technology has made education portable—students can interact with teachers anytime, anywhere, breaking traditional barriers. Innovative practices like video-based assignments enable creative expression and deeper understanding. These tools not only save time and reduce manual efforts for educators but also create an inclusive learning environment.”
This was followed by a roundtable discussion centered on three pivotal themes. First, panelists explored the transformative role of GenAI in education, emphasizing its potential to personalize learning, boost student engagement and streamline content creation. The conversation then shifted to data analytics and its impact on student success, with participants examining how predictive analytics can identify learning gaps and drive targeted interventions. Accessibility emerged as a key focus, as experts discussed how technology is breaking down barriers for students with disabilities.
The panel featured esteemed members of Indore’s academic community, including Dr. Rajesh Dixit, vice chancellor of Renaissance University; Prof. (Dr.) Vinith Kumar Nair, vice chancellor of Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences; Dr. Prashant Lakkadwal, HOD of IT at Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research; and Dr. Sanjeev Narang, officiating vice chancellor of Malwanchal University, among others. Hints about multiple sequels of ‘Stree’ ahead in MP – Amar Kaushik
Director Amar Kaushik has confirmed that the popular horror-comedy franchise ‘Stree’ is set to continue with multiple sequels. The announcement was made during a Knowledge Series seminar at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
Kaushik revealed that the upcoming sequels will be filmed primarily in Madhya Pradesh, a state that has become a popular filming destination due to its diverse landscapes and generous incentives. Interestingly, the original Stree was initially planned to be set in Goa but was eventually shifted to Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh. Kaushik explained that he wanted to avoid horror clichés and opted for a city setting rather than a traditional haunted house or beach location.
The Stree franchise, which includes the 2018 hit and its recent sequel, Stree 2, has been a massive commercial success. The films, starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Pankaj Tripathi, have garnered critical acclaim for their blend of humour, horror, and social commentary.
Film Tourism Policy 2.0 Soon – Principal Secretary Shri Shukla
Principal Secretary Shri Shukla said during the sessions that based on the suggestions received from filmmakers across the country, experts associated with the film industry, and stakeholders, changes are being made to the Madhya Pradesh Film Tourism Policy. Film Tourism Policy 2.0 will be released soon. This is a new and comprehensive policy designed to further promote film shooting in the state. Its objective is to provide additional facilities and incentives to filmmakers so that Madhya Pradesh can be made the top film-making destination in India. Changes are being made to the policy to attract international filmmakers, promote the state’s unexplored tourist destinations, and create employment opportunities for the local community and youth.
Cine Tourism & Film Production in Madhya Pradesh
Film Facilitation Cell to promote Film Shooting
The state government has established a Film Facilitation Cell to encourage the film industry and film shooting. This cell will coordinate with film production companies and producers, understand their needs, and suggest necessary changes in the policy. The Film Facilitation Cell will be overseen by a committee composed of the Managing Director of the MP Tourism Board, the Advisor for Archaeology, the Deputy Director of Finance, a film industry expert, and heads of relevant government departments. This cell will review all applications for film production and grant necessary approvals. It will also evaluate grant proposals submitted by producers. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to integrate film shooting into its Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA). This innovative approach ensures that film shooting permissions are granted within 15 working days, streamlining the process for filmmakers.
Single Window System
A streamlined one-stop-shop system is in place for filmmakers wishing to shoot in the state. All necessary permits are issued through this centralized system. The state government is boosting its economy by supporting the entertainment industry through the Film Tourism Fund. The goal is to create more opportunities for those involved in filmmaking. There are also plans to conduct tours for prominent Indian filmmakers.
Financial Incentives for Film Production in Madhya Pradesh
The state’s film production incentive policy offers financial incentives to filmmakers who shoot in Madhya Pradesh. The amount of the grant depends on the film’s budget and the percentage of shooting days spent in the state.
For the first film:
• Up to 1 crore budget: 25% of the production cost, up to a maximum of 1 crore, if at least 50% of the shooting is done in Madhya Pradesh.
• 1-1.5 crore budget: 25% of the production cost, up to a maximum of 1.5 crore, if at least 75% of the shooting is done in Madhya Pradesh.
For the second film:
• Up to 1.25 crore budget: 25% of the production cost, up to a maximum of 1.25 crore, if at least 50% of the shooting is done in Madhya Pradesh.
• 1.25-1.75 crore budget: 25% of the production cost, up to a maximum of 1.75 crore, if at least 75% of the shooting is done in Madhya Pradesh.
For the third and subsequent films:
• Up to 1.5 crore budget: 25% of the production cost, up to a maximum of 1.5 crore, if at least 50% of the shooting is done in Madhya Pradesh.
• 1.5-2 crore budget: 25% of the production cost, up to a maximum of 2 crore, if at least 75% of the shooting is done in Madhya Pradesh.

Speech by FS at Private Wealth Management Association Wealth Management Summit 2024 (English only) (with photo/video)
******************************************************************************************
Following is the speech by the Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, at the Private Wealth Management Association Wealth Management Summit 2024 today (November 22):
Amy (Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Private Wealth Management Association (PWMA), Ms Amy Lo), ladies and gentlemen,
Good morning. It gives me great pleasure to join you all again at the annual PWMA Wealth Management Summit.
The theme of today’s Summit, “Navigating New Norms: Drive, Connect, Transform”, aptly summarises the investment environment we are in, and what we need to do in the face of uncertainty and potential headwinds.
Here we will hear the perspectives on many pertinent issues from prominent private bankers, asset and wealth management specialists and many other professionals. Today’s summit is truly timely.
Hong Kong’s strong fundamentals
For friends who are coming from abroad, I’m happy to report that Hong Kong’s fundamentals as an international financial centre have remained as strong as ever. Recently, Hong Kong returned to the top three global financial centres, along with New York and London. The Fraser Institute has once again ranked Hong Kong the world’s freest economy.
Yet from time to time, we come across misperceptions about Hong Kong, such as those on the outflow of funds.
A few important facts will illustrate that international investors remain highly confident in Hong Kong.
First, bank deposits. Since the beginning of 2023 till September this year, bank deposits soared by around 11 per cent. That was equivalent to around HK$1.7 trillion.
Second, the stock market, which gradually regained growth momentum and rose by about 15 per cent year to date. And this year, we have raised about HK$70 billion in IPOs (initial public offerings), ranking fourth in the world.
Third, a vibrant private equity and venture capital ecosystem. With total capital under management of over US$230 billion, Hong Kong is in the second position in Asia, only behind the Mainland. We are Asia’s No. 1 hedge fund base.
Fourth – and you must know better than I do – asset and wealth management. Despite having gone through some challenging years, we continue to see solid overall growth of the asset and wealth management sector. At last count, the AUM (asset under management) of the sector stood at US$4 trillion. That represented some 30 per cent growth compared to 2018.
Our unparalleled access to the Mainland capital markets, and strategic location within the Greater Bay Area, have instilled strong confidence in international financial institutions in the outlook for Hong Kong’s asset and wealth management business. Many of them are expanding their operations in Hong Kong, renting more floor space and relocating their senior executives to this city.
And there have been more encouraging developments for the industry. Let me explain.
Greater Bay Area Opportunities
The first is the enhancement of the GBA (Greater Bay Area) Cross-boundary Wealth Management Connect. The Scheme, since first launched in September 2021, has provided a convenient channel for residents in the region to invest in wealth management products in Hong Kong.
With the steadfast support of the Central Authorities, the scheme was further enhanced in February this year. That included enlarging the scope of investment products covered, increasing the investment quota of individual investors, relaxing the scope of investment products, and more.
The enhancement was warmly received by GBA residents. In just a few months’ time, up to September this year, the cumulative amount of cross-boundary flow of funds went up six-fold, to reach over RMB 91 billion. The majority of the fund flow was from the GBA cities to Hong Kong. This has demonstrated the appeal and quality of the diversified investment product offerings by Hong Kong.
The insurance sector, meanwhile, presents good opportunities. The value of new business life insurance premiums from Mainland visitors stood at some HK$60 billion last year, and HK$30 billion for the first half of this year. That represented a jump of some 25 per cent compared to 2018.
Family Offices
The second is about family office. The Government has worked on all fronts to create a conducive and vibrant ecosystem for family offices. Hong Kong has the largest number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals in Asia. We are home to some 2 700 single family offices.
Over the past two years, the Wealth for Good Summits held in Hong Kong have brought together influential family office owners and decision-makers to explore strategies for effective wealth succession. As part of the effort to nurture a vibrant family office ecosystem, last year, we launched a network of Family Office Service Providers, and established the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy to share knowledge, facilitate talent training and provide networking opportunities.
Last month, in partnership with Bloomberg, we also established the Hong Kong Family Office Nexus that will engage in community building, knowledge sharing, technology support and philanthropic collaboration.
Building on the current tax exemption for eligible investments by single family offices, we will consult the industry on enhancing the related tax regimes with additional exemptions.
Capital Investment Entrant Scheme
Third, the new Capital Investment Entrant Scheme. Launched in March this year, the Scheme has garnered an encouraging response. At mid-November, it has received more than 670 applications, potentially bringing in capital of over HK$20 billion.
More opportunities ahead
Looking ahead, Hong Kong will present increasingly attractive investment opportunities for the asset and wealth management sector. Allow me to share a few observations.
First, connectivity. The role of Hong Kong in connecting different financial markets of the world is expanding.
Hong Kong has long served as a vital link between the capital markets of the Mainland and advanced economies. The Connect Schemes, initiated a decade ago, provide a trusted channel for both Mainland and international investors to access each other’s markets. The schemes have continually expanded in both breadth and depth, encompassing stocks, bonds, exchange-traded funds(ETFs), derivatives, and real estate investment trusts as recently announced. As more products and investment channels emerge, the Connect Schemes will drive more capital and liquidity into Hong Kong.
On the other hand, we are committed to expanding our financial ties with emerging markets and promote two-way capital flows, particularly with economies in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and the Middle East. Last year, we witnessed the listing of an ETF on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that invests in the Saudi market. Just weeks ago, two ETFs investing in Hong Kong were listed on the Saudi Exchange, one of which has become the largest ETF in the Middle East. Through expanding into these new markets, we will attract more capital and investors from around the globe to Hong Kong.
My second observation is that Hong Kong holds a bright future with vast potential. One promising area is financial services, which I have discussed at length.
Another promising area is being a headquarters economy and a supply chain management hub. Shifting global dynamics are prompting more Mainland companies to go global and re-align their manufacturing and supply chain networks. In support of their expansion, many will set up regional or global headquarters in Hong Kong for coordinating trade financing, overseeing corporate treasury functions as well as logistics. Our vision is to develop Hong Kong into a hub for regional and international headquarters, and a high value-added supply chain management centre to serve these enterprises.
Then, it is innovation and technology. Rapid advancements in technology have opened the door to a bright future for our city. Over the years, we have invested some HK$200 billion in innovation and technology, focusing on four strategic areas: AI (artificial intelligence) and data analytics, biotech, fintech, and new materials and new energy. To accelerate development in these areas, we established the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises at the end of 2022. Our concerted efforts have successfully attracted over 100 innovative enterprises to Hong Kong, which are expected to invest more than HK$50 billion in investments and create 17 000 jobs, many of which will be research and management positions. Notably, these companies will also bring along with them networks of companies in the up, middle and down streams of the industry chain.
In tandem with our efforts to support technological growth and economic development, we are dedicated to attracting talent from all over the world. Our various talent admission schemes have proven to be highly popular. Nearly 400 000 applications have been received to date. We have approved more than 250 000 of them, and more than 160 000 people have already relocated to the city. Many of them are professionals who are bringing their families, too.
All these encouraging developments will undoubtedly attract more top executives, professionals, entrepreneurs and high income individuals to Hong Kong. They are valuable sources of wealth that will contribute to the robust business growth of your sector.
Concluding remarks
Ladies and gentlemen, while our asset and management sector holds great promise, more needs to be done to realise its full potential.
One that requires our collaborative effort is the promotion of Hong Kong. As your Hong Kong Private Wealth Management Report has rightly put it, “[T]his year’s survey showed that Hong Kong continues to face perception challenges. Continued efforts through public-private partnerships will be required to receive feedback and address concerns from clients on some of the misinformation that may affect their perceptions of the city.”
The mission of sharing the true Hong Kong story is one that we would count on you as valuable partners. Whether you live here or are just here for a visit, it helps every bit that you bring back and share what you see in this city with your clients and friends. Invite them to come. Hong Kong will always remain open, welcoming and vibrant – both for business and the many pleasures of life.
Finally, I wish you all a rewarding Summit and the best of business in the coming year. Thank you.

Centro e Sud Italia: maltempo e meteo rigido
Sabato: venti gelidi dai settentrionali e wind chill

Domenica 24 novembre: consolidamento dell’alta pressione

Meteo: ritorno dell’alta pressione?
L’articolo Meteo: ritorno dell’alta pressione?
Meteo domani, sabato 23 novembre

Japan – Honda Unveils Demonstration Production Line for All-Solid-State Batteries Located in Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled the demonstration production line for all-solid-state batteries, which is being developed independently by Honda toward mass production. The line was constructed on the property of Honda R&D Co., Ltd. (Sakura), located in Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. While conducting technical verification to establish a mass production process on this demonstration line, Honda will determine the basic specifications of the battery cells, with an aim to begin applying its all-solid-state batteries to electrified models that will be introduced to market in the second half of the 2020s.
For the purpose of establishing the mass production process for its all-solid-state batteries, Honda built this demonstration line that replicates processes required for the mass production. The demonstration line has a total floor area of approximately 27,400 m2 (295,000 ft2), and is equipped with facilities and equipment that enable verification of each production process, including weighing and mixing of electrode materials, coating and roll pressing of electrode assembly and the formation of cells, and assembly of the module. The construction of the facility building was completed in spring of this year, with almost all of the key equipment necessary for the verification now installed. Honda is planning to begin battery production on this demonstration line in January 2025 and will conduct verification of mass production technologies and costs for each process, while also developing battery cell specifications.
Based on the conventional production process for liquid lithium-ion batteries, the Honda all-solid-state battery production process adopts a roll-pressing technique which will contribute to an increase in the density of the solid electrolyte layers, a process unique only to the production of all-solid-state batteries, and makes continuous pressing possible. With the adoption of the roll-pressing technique, Honda will strive to increase the degree of interfacial contact between the electrolyte and the electrodes and also increase overall productivity. Moreover, by consolidating and speeding up a series of assembly processes, including the bonding of positive and negative electrodes, Honda will strive to significantly reduce the production time per cell. Furthermore, Honda is also working to reduce indirect costs of battery production, including power consumption, by implementing various measures, including the establishment of production control technology that minimizes the low dew point environment necessary to ensure work safety and battery performance.
By increasing cost competitiveness of its all-solid-state batteries through the adoption of a highly efficient production process and by expanding application of the batteries to a wide range of Honda mobility products, not only automobiles but motorcycles and aircraft, Honda aims to further reduce battery costs by taking advantage of economies of scale. Through these initiatives, Honda will offer new value made possible by its innovative all-solid-state battery technologies to an even greater number of customers and expand the joy of mobility.
Honda has abundant manufacturing expertise and a proven track record of achieving mass production of new technologies, such as solar cells and fuel cells. Now, in the area of all-solid-state batteries, Honda is conducting speedy research and development in two core areas – material specifications and manufacturing methods – with the aim of starting mass production of the battery in the second half of the 2020s. Even before the battery materials and specifications are determined, the production engineering division has been participating in development and taking part in decisions on battery structure, materials, and production methods, which would be most suitable for vehicle installation. As a result, Honda was able to begin operation of this demonstration line quickly, and is making efficient progress in material selections.
Striving to realize carbon neutrality for all Honda products and corporate activities by 2050, Honda has set a target to make battery-electric and fuel cell electric vehicles represent 100% of its new vehicle sales globally by 2040. Due to their characteristics of high energy density and excellent heat resistance, all-solid batteries are expected to be the next-generation batteries that will solve issues that hinder the popularization of EVs such as range, price, and charging time. In addition to the high energy density and durability achieved by its original material design technology, Honda is striving to lower the cost of the batteries by simplifying the cooling structure by taking advantage of high heat resistance and realizing highly efficient production processes, thereby achieving a significant advancement of EV performance and creation of new value for its customers.
Comments by Keiji Otsu, President and Representative Director of Honda R&D Co., Ltd.
“The all-solid-state battery is an innovative technology that will be a game changer in this EV era. Replacing engines that have been supporting the advancements of automobiles to date, batteries will be the key factor of electrification. We believe that advancement of batteries will be a driving force in the transformation of Honda. Now, the start of operation of our demonstration production line for our all-solid-state batteries is in sight, and we can say that we have reached an important milestone for Honda and the country of Japan. Meteo: perturbazione fredda al centro-sud, stabilità e gelo al nord
Condizioni meteorologiche variegate in Italia
Centro e Sud: piogge, temporali e neve

Operational Cost Reductions: Addressing inquiries on operational expenses, executives at NaaS reported a 44% reduction in operational losses compared to Q2, achieved by streamlining resources and cutting selling expenses by 41.7% and administrative expenses by 15%. They emphasized that measures reflect the company’s commitment to maintaining efficiency and profitability.
3. Positive Non-IFRS Net Income: Asked about the significance of achieving positive non-IFRS net income, management emphasized a milestone of RMB 21 million net income in Q3. This shift was credited to reduced reliance on subsidies, improved revenue quality, and tax benefits from profitable subsidiaries.
4. User Subsidies and Revenue Sustainability: Analysts inquired about trends in user subsidies and their impact on profitability. NaaS explained its strategic reduction of subsidies early in 2024, which improved take rates and fostered a more sustainable revenue model, driven by organic growth rather than incentives.
5. Competitive Positioning: When questioned on competitive advantages, the company pointed to its asset-light model, advanced AI-powered platform, and ecosystem partnerships as key differentiators. These enable scalability and operational efficiency while maintaining market leadership.
6. Synergies with Parent Company: Addressing a query on the partnership with NewLink, NaaS parent company, management noted that over 70% of new users were acquired organically through parent company NewLink’s ecosystem. This collaboration has reduced marketing expenses and enhanced user retention through shared resources.
7. Focus on Core Charging Services: Responding to a question about strategic focus, executives highlighted the company’s pivot to high-margin, asset-light charging services, which drove a record gross profit margin and allowed for better resource allocation compared to lower-margin energy solutions.
8. Regional Expansion: Questions about recent expansions led to a discussion of partnerships in Fujian Province, which appear to have added over 100 charging stations and 1,600 DC fast chargers to NaaS. This seems to align with NaaS’s strategy to further develop a nationwide charging network, supported by AI-driven tools for operational efficiency.
9. Charger Network Growth: On the topic of infrastructure, management attributed a 49% year-over-year increase in connected chargers to strategic site selection, technological innovations, and partnerships, emphasizing NaaS as a leader in China’s EV charging market.
Overall, the Q&A session provided insights into how NaaS and its management are leveraging operational efficiencies, strategic shifts, and technology to strengthen its market position while pursuing sustainable growth and profitability.

By employing environmentally conscious solutions, we strive to minimise your ecological footprint while ensuring that gas distribution never poses a concern for your operations.
A central aspect of our services is the design and installation of reticulated inert gas pipework systems. These systems present several benefits over traditional bottled gas setups, providing continuous and uninterrupted gas supply from a central filling point or an onsite generator. This design removes the inefficiencies and safety concerns associated with bottled gas, enabling a smoother, safer, and more cost-effective operational flow.
Ensure Enhanced Safety and Efficiency with Reticulated Pipework Systems
Airequip and Pipetools reticulated welding gas pipework systems serve as a strategic enhancement to any facility that relies on inert gases. Our pipework systems ensure an uninterrupted gas supply, eliminating downtime caused by manual bottle changes and preventing costly operational delays.
One notable advantage of this system is that it reduces the risks associated with handling heavy gas bottles, thereby minimising the chances of injuries in the workplace. Centralised distribution also enhances gas management, as integrated pressure gauges and sensors allow operators to monitor gas levels easily and schedule timely refills or maintenance without disruptions. For our clients, this results in streamlined workflows, improved productivity, and reduced operational costs.
Also, the centralised nature of reticulated systems minimises the need for storing multiple gas bottles at various points of use, which in turn reduces the risk of gas leaks, spills, or other potential accidents. This aspect of our systems not only contributes to a safer working environment but also supports better control over gas usage. With optimised monitoring capabilities, the likelihood of gas wastage diminishes, leading to further savings and a positive environmental impact.
Trusted Solutions for Diverse Industries
Our extensive experience has led us to successfully implement inert gas pipework systems across Australia for industries that depend on precise gas distribution for their daily operations. The systems weve designed and installed include onsite gas generators (for CO₂ and Nitrogen), comprehensive pipework networks, and seamless connections to machinery or point-of-use applications.
By moving from bottled gases to a centralised and functional reticulated system, businesses can achieve a safer, cleaner, and more effective means of gas distribution. With the ability to monitor gas usage centrally, your facility can enjoy enhanced control and reliability without the constant worry of depletion, allowing you to focus on achieving higher productivity levels.

Business Consulting Leader LLC Joins Acumatica’s Services Partner Program
Business Consulting Leader (BCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Technology Leader Companies LLC, formalizes status with Acumatica ERP as a Services Partner.
This new Services Partner designation will allow Business Consulting Leader to offer a wider array of services to Acumatica clients through the Acumatica VAR Partner channel. The consulting group, originally spun off from the Presales-as-a-Service offered by sister company Presales Leader, has grown to a point where it can deliver a robust suite of services to Acumatica end clients and partners.
Jeremy Potoka, Founder and Principal Solutions Architect shared his excitement about formalizing this relationship with Acumatica. “We’ve been offering consulting services post-sale for over two years and took time to carefully build our team to fully support clients post-sale. Our VAR clients have come to expect a level of excellence out of us in a presales solutions architecture capacity. We didn’t want to commit to the services partner program until we were ready to deliver that same level of excellence and success into end-client implementations and consulting.”
BCL plans to differentiate itself by taking unique service offerings to market as a services partner. BCL will perform implementation support activities that resellers expect, but also are already offering a variety of unique services that from BCL’s perspective don’t really exist in the Acumatica ecosystem today. For example, our design only services allow us to put senior resources on the initial phase of a project and then transition back to the reseller’s delivery team.
A year ago, BCL launched a subscription service that partners can resell, but don’t have to deliver any services themselves. “Our ERP Admin Service subscription service is providing valuable margin to resellers, while simultaneously increasing end customer success, retention and overall spend. Every partner in the channel should be socializing ERP Admin and Optimization Services with their clients. Our processes have been validated with clients ranging from $5M in revenue all the way to $400+ million in revenue”, commented Jeremy.
Acumatica Partners will soon be able to see BCL’s listing in the Services Partner Marketplace. Technology Leader Companies also plans on sending 12+ employees to the Acumatica summit at the end of January 2025.

Foul Ball Safety Now Calls for World Series-worthy Discussion on Fan Injuries at Winter Meetings
Off-season contemplation of fan safety risks from foul balls is needed to stop ongoing serious injuries throughout professional baseball.
As Major League Baseball prepares to host its annual winter meetings in Dallas from December 8 to 12, Foul Ball Safety Now urges everyone who loves baseball to contemplate what must be done in the off-season to ensure that no more serious fan injuries from foul balls occur throughout professional baseball.
Unfortunately, several incidents during the World Series — and many more during the 2024 season across both MLB and the minor leagues — provide ample evidence that foul balls continue to pose unnecessary risks to fan safety.
During Game 1 of the World Series at Dodgers Stadium on October 25, a man was hit in the face by a foul ball during the 8th inning, and was taken out on a stretcher with a possible broken nose.
At batting practice prior to Game 1, a broadcast TV anchor was hit in the chest by a foul ball and received medical attention.
Then in Game 4 at Yankee Stadium on October 29, a woman was hit in the face by a foul ball, suffering from swollen eyes and profuse bleeding, according to a credible witness who was seated near the injured woman behind home plate.
League officials should also review the scenario evident during the final Game 5 at Yankee Stadium on October 30, when a young boy battling cancer was seated with his mother in complimentary seats in the front row along the first base line that were not protected by safety netting.
“These are all important reminders for everyone to contemplate in the off-season before ballparks open again in 2025,” according to Jordan Skopp, founder of Foul Ball Safety Now.
“Professional baseball needs to be more mindful of the risks of life-altering injuries to fans, particularly children. Everyone can watch the powerful video which I call Exhibit A to understand the risk of dangerous foul balls flying into the stands,” Skopp said.
About Foul Ball Safety Now
Foul Ball Safety Now! is a campaign started by Jordan Skopp, a Brooklyn realtor, lifelong baseball fan, and author of a forthcoming book about the wildly overlooked scandal in the professional baseball industry – the all-too-frequent incidence of fans being maimed by dangerous foul balls due to the lack of extended protective netting, and related failures to educate fans about their assumed risk at the ballgame.

Meteo giovedì: contrasti atmosferici e fenomeni diffusi

Inverno come novembre?

Japan – Rozebalamin for Injection 25mg (Mecobalamin) for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Launched in Japan
Eisai Co., Ltd. announced today that the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) treatment “Rozebalamin® for Injection25 mg” (mecobalamin) has been launched in Japan as a treatment for slowing progression of functionalimpairment in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The product received manufacturing and marketing approval in Japan on September 24, 2024, and was published in Japan’s National Health Insurance Drug Price List today.
This approval is based on the results of JETALS (The Japan Early-Stage Trial of Ultrahigh-Dose Methylcobalamin for ALS),multicenter, placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized Phase III clinical trial in 130 patients with ALS, that was conducted as an investigator-initiated trial by a research team with Extraordinary Professor Ryuji Kaji (Principal Investigator), Tokushima University, and Professor Yuishin Izumi (Coordinating Investigator), the Department of Neurology,Tokushima University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and Professor Satoshi Kuwabara (Coordinating Investigator), the Department of Neurology, Chiba University Graduate School of Medicine.1
ALS is an intractable, progressive, neurodegenerative disease that results in severe muscle atrophy and weakness in the muscles due to motor neuron dysfunction. As the main cause of death is respiratory failure due to paralysis of the respiratory muscles, without the use of an artificial respirator, death occurs within approximately 2 to 5 years from the onset of the disease.2 The number of patients in Japan is estimated to be approximately10,000.2 Currently, there is no curative treatment established for ALS, and since there are only limited number of medicines approved in Japan and abroad, this is a disease with significant unmet medical needs.
Eisai considers neurology a therapeutic area of focus. As a human healthcare company, Eisai is committed to further addressing the diverse needs of, and increasing the benefits of, patients and their families by providing Rozebalamin as a new treatment option for ALS patients.
Product Outline
Product name: Rozebalamin® for Injection 25 mg Generic name: Mecobalamin
Indication for use: Slowing progression of functional impairment in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
Dosage and administration: The usual dose of mecobalamin in adults is 50 mg a day, twice a week, injected intramuscularly.
National Health Insurance (NHI) Drug Price: Rozebalamin® for Injection 25 mg 1 vial 10,425 JPY Packaging: Rozebalamin® for Injection 25 mg 8 vials
About Rozebalamin (generic name: mecobalamin, development code: E0302)
Mecobalamin is approved and marketed as Methycobal®, a 500 µg injection of mecobalamin indicated for the treatmentof peripheral neuropathies and megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency. Methycobal is also approved as a tablet formulation (250 µg and 500 µg) as well as a fine granule formulation (0.1%) indicated for the treatment of peripheral neuropathies. While the mechanism of action of mecobalamin against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is not known, it has been suggested in non-clinical research that mecobalamin may have efficacy through a neuroprotective effect and regeneration of nerve axons. Since the 1990s, clinical research has been carried out by a study group on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, suggested that ultrahigh-dose mecobalamin, which is respectively 50 and 100 times the approved dosage of Methycobal, could have a clinical effect in ALS, and Eisai then conducted the Phase II/III clinical trial (Study 761) from 2006. Eisai submitted a new drug application in May 2015 but the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) indicated that additional clinical trials were necessary.
After obtaining favorable results in the investigator-initiated Phase III trial JETALS, and following consultation withTokushima University, Eisai submitted a new drug application for the treatment of ALS in Japan in January 2024, leading to its approval in September, 2024 and leading to the launch today. In May 2022, Rozebalamin received orphan drug designation from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
About Japan Early-stage Trial of Ultrahigh-Dose Methylcobalamin for ALS (JETALS)
The Japan Early-stage Trial of Ultrahigh-Dose Methylcobalamin for ALS (JETALS) is an investigator-initiated study conducted as a multicenter, placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized Phase III clinical trial to verify the efficacy and safety of high-dose methylcobalamin (mecobalamin) in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).1
Mecobalamin 50 mg or placebo was administered intramuscularly twice weekly for 16 weeks to 130 ALS patients who had suffered from ALS for less than one year, were classified as “definite”, “probable”, or “probable- laboratory supported” according to the Updated Awaji Criteria, had an ALS severity rating of grade 1 or 2, had a decrease of 1 or 2 points inthe total score on the Revised ALS Functional Rating Scale-Revised (ALSFRS-R) 12 weeks prior to administration, and had a forced vital capacity (%FVC) of more than 60%.3
The primary endpoint was the change in ALSFRS-R total score from the end of the observation period to week 16 of the treatment period. The change was -2.7 [95% confidence interval (CI): -3.9, -1.5] in the mecobalamin
50 mg group and -4.6 [95% CI: -5.8, -3.4] in the placebo group, with a difference in change of 2.0 (95% CI: 0.4, 3.5; p=0.012), verifying the superiority of mecobalamin 50 mg over placebo.3 The adverse drug reaction incidence rate was 1.6% (1/64 cases) in the placebo group and 7.7% (5/65 cases) in the mecobalamin 50 mg group. Adverse drugreactions observed in the mecobalamin 50 mg group were constipation, injection site pain, fever, electrocardiogram QT prolongation, and rash, occurring in 1.5% (1/65 cases) each.3

Entro venerdì mattina, gli accumuli sui 2000 metri potrebbero raggiungere i 60-80 cm in Valle d’Aosta occidentale, 10-20 cm sulle Alpi lombarde, in Trentino Alto Adige e Alto Veneto.

Dicembre estremo come novembre?
