In F1 Racing, the difference between finishing First and Second can be a matter of milliseconds. And the F1 in Schools’s STEM Challenge is no different. Teams from schools across India recently participated in the competition’s regional championships. Spanning ages between Nine and 19, the participating teams put their designs to test and flaunted the inner workings of their cars to a panel of eminent judges.
The main objective behind the competition is to change the perceptions of science, technology, engineering and maths. As an enterprise that works with industry partners to provide an exciting yet challenging educational experience, F1 in Schools has allowed a team of three young boys to completely change their lives.
HyperBolt a F1 in Schools team from Lotus Valley International School in Noida comprises three young minds: Aryan, Adwait and Siddharth. Given a chance to design and build miniature, compressed air powered future car projects, the students deployed CAD/CAM software to collaborate, design, analyse, manufacture, test and race the miniatures. Besides learning the challenges and benefits of cutting edge technology, the team also had to raise sponsorship and manage budgets, thereby learning important life and professional skills.
Their hardwork and dedication finally paid off when the team won the Championship trophy at the North India Regionals. The team has been promoted to the National Championships which functions as a conduit for raw talent to showcase their designs.
