World Punjabi Organization and SUN Foundation, under the patronage of Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, successfully organized the third edition of the ‘Vaisakhi SuperSikh 5K Marathon’ at Connaught Place, New Delhi. The event witnessed a spirited participation of over 3000 citizens from all age groups, celebrating the vibrant festival of Vaisakhi with the theme “Say No to Drugs and Fit India”.
Dr. Sahney stated that it is heartening to see such tremendous enthusiasm from the citizens in embracing the message of a Fit India. On the sacred occasion of Vaisakhi, we commit ourselves to the physical and mental well-being of our society, echoing the spirit of unity, strength, and vitality that the festival symbolizes.
Dr. Sahney emphasized that this marathon is not just a race but it is a movement to awaken our youth and society at large to Say No to Drugs. In today’s times, when drug abuse threatens to engulf many young lives, we must act proactively. Educating children early and empowering families and communities is the most effective way to build a drug-free India.
To recognize the exceptional efforts of participants, prizes were awarded to many participants under various categories. The 1st Prize for Male catagory was awarded to Mr. Chandarpal Choudhary and in female catagory, Ms. Bharti secured the 1st Prize
Dr. Sahney personally felicitated the winners and lauded their dedication to fitness and social awareness. With each passing year, the Vaisakhi SuperSikh Marathon continues to grow as a beacon of community spirit, wellness, and collective action for a better tomorrow.
