Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) hosted the Second International Conference on Emerging Research in Computing, Information, Communication, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning event (ERCICAM 2025), which brought together experts, enthusiasts, and their research from across the field of emerging technologies. The two-day conference kicked off with the inauguration ceremony on Friday.
ERCICAM 2025 provides an interdisciplinary forum for discussion among Researchers, Engineers and Scientists to promote research and exchange of Knowledge in Computing, Information, Communication, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.. This conference will provide a platform for Academicians, Engineers and Scientists to network and will encourage the participants to undertake high end research in the above emerging areas.
The conference was graced by Dr. Udaya Shankar Puranik, Director AI and Cyber Security Theta Dynamics (MGI) USA and Science Writer as a Chief Guest and Keynote speaker.
He addressed the gathering on the topic “The role of Computing in transforming Industries” delving deep into the topics of AI and Machine learning, Quantum Computing, cybersecurity Landscape and Edge Computing.
Emphasizing the Power of the Indian talent he said, “India has proven itself to be not just the birthplace of zero, but a powerhouse of technological innovation. As demonstrated at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, we have successfully deployed homegrown AI, cybersecurity, and infrastructure solutions that supported over 67 crore visitors. This wasn’t achieved by licensing foreign technology but by harnessing Indian talent and expertise. We are now the third largest ecosystem for AI startups globally. This is the new India, creating solutions by Indians, for India, and for the world.”
The conference had the presence of Dr. Kalidas Shetty as a guest of honor who is the Founding Director of Global Institute of Food Security & International Agriculture (GIFSIA), Professor of Plant Science & Associate Vice President for International Partnerships & Collaborations, North Dakota State University.
Speaking about food security in India, Dr. Kalidas Shetty said, “India is one of the few countries which, if we put science together very well, would never be food insecure. The reason is that we have such diversity of landscape and long civilization. This diversity allows us to be resilient, and that is also an opportunity. Everybody talks about chips security, but fundamentally, equally important – any society that has food security will always be a global leader.”
Special Invitee, Dr. Vijay S. Rao, Research Lead (Principal Director), LTI Mindtree, Netherlands gave a Technical Talk on ” Quantum Computer and Quantum Cryptography “
Dr. H.C. Nagaraj Principal NMIT, Dr.Sandeep Shastri, Vice-President, Bangalore Campus, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mr. Rohit Punja, Administrator of Nitte Education Trust, Prof Nalini N, Department of CSE and Dr. Sreekanth Rallapalli, Professor and Head of Department, MCA, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, were present during the conference.
NMIT’s ERCICAM stayed true to its word of being a platform for researchers, industry leaders, and enthusiasts to come together and discuss the latest trends and developments in emerging technologies. The event was a testament to the growing importance of these fields, and we look forward to seeing what breakthroughs and innovations will emerge in the coming years.
