“M” Mark status awarded to FWD Insurance Chinese New Year Cup 2025

The Major Sports Events Committee (MSEC) has awarded “M” Mark status to FWD Insurance Chinese New Year Cup 2025, which will be held at the Hong Kong Stadium on February 1, 2025.
The Chairman of the MSEC, Mr Wilfred Ng, said today (January 30) ”The Chinese New Year Cup is deeply rooted in Hong Kong’s history and is one of the traditional celebration activities during the Chinese New Year. The MSEC has awarded the ‘M’ Mark status to FWD Insurance Chinese New Year Cup 2025 to honour its contribution to the promotion of sports culture during the festive period.”
The “M” Mark System aims to encourage and help local national sports associations and private or non-government organisations to organise more major international sports events and nurture them into sustainable undertakings. Sports events meeting the assessment criteria will be considered for “M” Mark status by the MSEC. Funding support will also be provided to some events.
