The Buellton Village Senior Apartments project is a key initiative for Cabrillo EDC. It addresses the critical need for affordable, supportive housing for seniors in Santa Barbara County, helping to create a stable and secure environment for those who have served and those in need of housing. The groundbreaking for the Buellton Village Senior Apartments was celebrated on August 15, 2024, with esteemed speakers and attendees, including Buellton Mayor David King, representatives from Congressman Salud Carbajals office, and community leaders who support the mission of creating affordable housing options for seniors in Santa Barbara County.

The Home Depot Foundation, founded in 2002, is dedicated to improving the lives of U.S. veterans, aiding communities affected by natural disasters, and supporting skilled trades training to help reduce the labor shortage in construction. The Foundation has committed more than $500 million to veteran causes and improved housing options for seniors, low-income families, and underserved communities across the U.S.

The support from The Home Depot Foundation is invaluable in helping us move forward with this development, which has been a decade in the making, said Victoria Brady, Interim COO/CFO of Cabrillo EDC. The Foundations support of the Buellton Village Senior Apartments will make a lasting impact on the lives of seniors and veterans in our community, allowing them to be part of a community in which they can thrive.

This grant shows the strong partnership between The Home Depot Foundation and Cabrillo EDC, as both organizations share a dedicated mission of improving the lives of veterans and underserved communities. For more information about CEDC and its upcoming initiatives, please visit www.cabrilloedc.org
