We’re a retail company, so we are using BPA Platform to connect our point of sale (POS) system to SYSPRO. It pulls the product pricing from the POS software and updates SYSPRO. BPA Platform then takes that pricing information from SYSPRO and updates Shopify. BPA Platform also uploads the product information, titles, names and descriptions from SYSPRO to Shopify, as well as updating the inventory levels. All sales data is downloaded from Shopify into SYSPRO, and once it’s in SYSPRO we then fulfil the orders. When the orders are fulfilled, BPA Platform then marks the orders as fulfilled in Shopify, explained Brody McDearmid, CFO, Meridian Meats & Meridian Farm Market.
Prior to implementing its ERP system Meridian Farm Market was entering all of its data manually and only recording bulk sales values into its accounting software on a monthly basis.
We therefore started looking for an ERP solution that would improve that, and SYSPRO was one of the ERP systems that we evaluated. As part of the solution, we needed the ERP to integrate to our existing website, which was built on Shopify. Therefore, as part of the request for proposal (RFP), we informed all of the ERP companies that we needed the ERP to integrate to Shopify, said Brody McDearmid.
Meridian Farm Market subsequently selected SYSPRO as its ERP of choice. As part of the agreement, SYSRPO presented BPA Platform as the middleware solution to provide the integration with Shopify. However, the project took a little while to get fully implemented due to its complexity.
Whilst SYSPRO was initially leading this project, due to the complex nature of our integration, SYSPRO enlisted the help of Codeless Platforms as the experts in the field. Codeless Platforms was able to parachute in, take over the responsibility and deliver the project quickly and easily. Ever since their involvement, things have been working extremely well. It was great, revealed Brody McDearmid.
If we had tried to undertake the development and integration without BPA Platform it would have required a significant amount more time, and instead we would have embarked on a custom development project, which is nowhere near as agile or as scalable as BPA Platform.
The main benefit from the project and installing BPA Platform is the elimination of that manual data entry. We also now have access to real-time data. We’re taking sales orders, fulfilling the sales orders, and immediately have that financial data available to us in SYSPRO. We didn’t have that before because we were only doing it once a month. So, it’s definitely improved our business processes and insight into our sales.
