The hero of the Olympic 2024 Games was the efficient use of BIM (building information modeling) that enabled organizers to refurbish the existing venues with sustainable, energy-efficient, and carbon-conscious infrastructure while repurposing the venues for future events. With the power of BIM modeling services, Paris took an opportunity to utilize the existing structure to create sustainable strategies and ensure the reuse of the venues for future sports and cultural events.

Additionally, for water polo, swimming, and diving events in the Olympics, Paris created a new structure called Aquatic Center using BIM services to ensure low carbon emitting infra using bio-based materials. Moreover, the successful integration of BIM technology in Paris Olympic venues resulted in the lowest carbon emission as compared to other host cities. Following are the key venues where building information modeling played a critical role.

– Olympic village
– Plaza de La Concordia (Urban Sports Pavilion)
– State de France
– Aquatic Center

BIM was also leveraged to recreate the urban landscape of Pariss iconic sitethe Eiffel Tower, which had been redesigned to rebalance the use of public space in favor of pedestrians and optimize traffic flows. Using scan-to-BIM technology, developers and architects reimagined the iconic Iron Lady of Paris for better urban park and landscape development.
