Dr. Kirsten Carr, MD, CMD – Newly Elected President

Dr. Carr joined Ascent Healthcare in August 2021 and became the CMO of Ascent Healthcare in 2023. A graduate of Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine, Dr. Carr completed her Family Medicine residency at Scottsdale Healthcare. She discovered her passion for nursing home medicine in 2013 and became a certified long-term and post-acute care medical director in 2017.

Adair Moore, MSN, NP – Newly Elected Secretary/Treasurer

Adair Moore, Ascent Healthcare’s Chief Executive officerVanderbilt University MSN graduate, Moore has extensive post-acute care experience across four states. She has held various leadership positions at Ascent Healthcare since joining in 2014, culminating in her appointment as CEO this year.

Contributing to PALTmed’s Mission

The Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed), formerly known as PALTC, is the only national medical society representing and supporting clinical leaders and professionals working in post-acute and long-term care settings. This includes skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, home care, and hospice. The organization is dedicated to advancing the quality of care for patients in these settings through education, advocacy, and professional development. PALTmed advocates for the importance of the role of Medical Director in nursing facilities and has developed a core curriculum that provides training for Physicians to become certified Medical Directors.

In their new roles, Dr. Carr and Moore will contribute significantly to PALTC’s mission. Dr. Carr’s expertise in long-term care medicine and her experience as a certified medical director will help drive improvements in clinical practices and care quality across Oregon’s post-acute and long-term care facilities. Moore’s extensive operational experience and strategic vision will be invaluable in supporting PALTC’s organizational goals and financial stewardship.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Carr and Adair for their election to these important positions,” said Dr. Christopher Morris. “Their leadership in Oregon PALTC will undoubtedly contribute to advancing post-acute and long-term care in our state, aligning perfectly with PALTC’s mission to enhance the quality of life for seniors and promote excellence in patient care.”

These appointments reflect Ascent Healthcare’s commitment to excellence in post-acute care and its dedication to improving healthcare outcomes for seniors in Oregon.
