Correctional officers stop person in custody attempting escape

     ​Correctional officers stopped a male person in custody attempting escape at Tai Lam Correctional Institution today (March 17).

     At 1.13pm today, a 29-year-old male person in custody suddenly climbed up a fence while taking a rest at an outdoor activities area and attempted to escape. Officers at the scene immediately stopped him and called for reinforcement. The officers and the person in custody did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

     The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.

     The person in custody was sentenced to imprisonment of 10 months and 14 days for the offences of possession of dangerous drug and theft in November 2023.
