About the Author:

Robert Fedak, a disabled Vietnam Marine Veteran, embarked on a journey after his discharge to become a longhaul truck driver. However, his Vietnam injury eventually forced him to stop working, leaving him pondering his next steps. In 1997, he relocated to Colorado in a state of distress. Taking a job with the Colorado Food Stamp office, where they would collect close to $100,000.00, he contemplated a daring heist as a solution to his financial woes. During a vacation to New Hampshire, accompanied by his brother-in-law for an alibi, his wife uncovered his plans, thwarting his life of crime before it began.

Encouraged by his wife to channel his energy into more positive pursuits, Robert attempted to write a book but struggled to find motivation. Returning to truck driving, he resettled in New Jersey, but after 35 years behind the wheel, his injury worsened. Amidst personal challenges, including divorce in 1996, he found himself remarried and living in Pennsylvania, still searching for purpose. Despite his age, Robert retained a love for classic detective movies like The Thin Man, Mick Spillane, and Charlie Chan, which inspired him to pen a detective novel under the pseudonym Jay Jax 1936. To his surprise, the book garnered acclaim, marking Robert as a published writer.
