BSA Claims Solutions Ready for 2023 Hurricane Season After Year of Service Advancements, Growth

BSA Claims Solutions Ready for 2023 Hurricane Season After Year of Service Advancements, Growth thumbnail

After a busy 2022 Atlantic Basic Hurricane Season that saw BSA Claims Solutions adjusters complete thousands of claims in Louisiana and Florida, BSA is poised to continue its growth as one of the largest privately held Independent Adjusting firms in Florida, said Brian Bradley, President and CEO of the firm.

“With another above-average hurricane season in the forecast for 2023, with at least at least 18 named storms and nine hurricanes — four of which are expected to be major, BSA is ready to support carriers with seasoned, experienced field, desk adjusters and Fast Track adjusters,” he said.

“The expected robust El Niño for the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season may be offset by the record warm sea surface in the tropical and subtropical Atlantic,” he noted.

Now in its 17th year of operations, BSA saw a year of growth in 2022. “We have added carriers in Florida and continue to serve Louisiana and Florida throughout the year through daily and cradle-to-grave claims management services. We have a great team in place that is exceeding carrier expectations and believe that will continue during 2023 deployments to manage catastrophic claims this season.”

BSA has spent the off-season sharpening its scalable model, developing CAT plans and training and recruiting Fast Track, Field CAT and CAT cradle-to-grave adjusters.

BSA is ready for the possible busy season, Bradley said. “Our flexible system of expanding services on short notice is a good match for carriers, who need knowledgeable, veteran adjusters to provide accurate estimates in a quick cycle time,” he said.

BSA’s proven record of delivering continued during the busy 2022 season, Bradley said. “Slammed by almost simultaneous hurricanes in Louisiana and Florida, BSA utilized its flexible claims administration model to meet the needs of our carriers. We expanded our services and rosters and improved our outcomes throughout 2022 season,” he said, continuing BSA’s proven track record in accuracy, quick claim cycles, outstanding customer service and low percentage of supplementals/re-opened files.

On-site Team Leads and resources for adjusters gives BSA the edge in CAT claim management. “Our proven deployment process and on-site training and adjuster support gets adjusters into affected areas and establishes quick solutions preceding and immediately following landfall, often resulting in cost savings for carriers,” Bradley said.

BSA has established a Managed Claim Model process that is surpassing goals. “We have handled approximately 50,000 assignments in the cradle-to-crave MCM model. The addition of extra support and almost-immediate internal reviews has made our cradle-to-grave services highly sought after,” Bradley said.

BSA has also continued excellence in services it its Litigated Services Unit, which went remote in March of 2020. “Our Litigated Specialists have transitioned to remote work like champions, with support of BSA-provided equipment, leadership engagement, training and frequent communication enabling us to stay on top. Our successful Litigation Unit and its ever-expanding operations deliver quick, fair resolutions to litigated claims,” he said.

BSA is ready for Fast Track deployments to handle Severity 1 and 2 events, Bradley continued. “Our Fast Track office in Jacksonville remains at the ready and we will be training our Fast Track adjusters soon,” he said.

BSA, well-regarded among policymakers, colleagues and industry associations, enjoys beneficial relationships across the claims management business. BSA was a sixth-year Platinum sponsor of Verisk’s annual Elevate conference earlier this year, supporting training to its adjusters and staff and hearing from world-class speakers and about the introduction of many Verisk third-party applications, with its annual backing. “BSA was proud to sponsor Elevate 2022.

“Our management team came home with increased knowledge, contacts and ideas for improving our services that we are now implementing.” he said.
