Murder in Kwun Tong

     Police are investigating a murder case happened in Kwun Tong this afternoon (August 30), in which a 79-year-old woman died.
 
     At 2.55pm, Police received a report that two women were suspected fighting inside a toilet cubicle on 60 Hip Wo Street.
 
     Police officers sped to the scene and found multiple cut wounds on the 79-year-old woman’s head and neck. She was rushed to United Christian Hospital and was certified dead at 3.28pm. Another 51-year-old woman suffered slight injury on hand. She was sent to United Christian Hospital in conscious state and later transferred to Castle Peak Hospital.

     Initial investigation revealed that the deceased had been allegedly attacked by the 51-year-old woman with a sharp-edged object. Police arrested the woman for murder. She is being detained for enquiries.

     A 30 centimeters long chopper and a whetstone in suspected connection with the case were seized at scene. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.       
 
     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Kwun Tong District is underway. Anyone who witnessed the case or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3661 0613.
