While onsite cannabis consumption is allowed in certain circumstances, AB 374 would permit the sales of non-cannabis-infused products and allow for a more inviting and coffee shop-style experience. Current law bans the sale of non-cannabis related products.

Investors are already lining up on the possibility. Cinthia Guzman, co-founder of CQ Cafe in Melrose, has already started on their buildout of their cafes. The Melrose location will serve as their flagship store in the Los Angeles metro area.

We are excited to be part of this historic moment. Legalization would serve as a catalyst for the emerging market and allow more opportunities for the city and state, said Cinthia.

Currently the City of Los Angeles has received more than 500 applications for these cafes.
