GLEN MILLS, Pa., July 11, 2023 (Newswire.com)
–
Telesystem, a leading provider of managed technology solutions, is set to host their second of three #HackersSuck Cybersecurity Summits on August 1st and 2nd at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. There is no charge for guests to attend. This follows a summit in Arizona back in April, and will precede the final summit of the year in Texas on October 3rd. Headquartered in Toledo, OH, Telesystem is a leading provider of cybersecurity, communication, and advanced networking solutions nationwide, serving thousands of customers in the Philadelphia area as well as employing more than 50 people in the region. The organization has a regional office and warehouse in Glen Mills, PA.
Telesystem’s #HackerSuck Cybersecurity Summits focus on the ever evolving and growing cybersecurity threat landscape, bringing together a team of cybersecurity experts and analysts to educate business leaders and technology professionals on how to keep themselves and their clients both connected and protected. The educational summit will feature keynote speaker Hector Monsegur, a former blackhat hacker turned FBI informant who once faced 124 years in prison for hacking the federal government, among other institutions. Monsegur will highlight the extent to which most businesses are left unprotected, as well as provide simple fundamentals that can help organizations prevent a data disaster. As recently as May, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the nation’s third oldest continually operating newspaper, was crippled for weeks due to a ransomware attack.
Aside from Monsegur, each day will feature a panel discussion comprised of cybersecurity experts and local law enforcement personnel that will highlight common omissions that business leaders overlook when securing their networks and data. Attendees will also be educated on simple and affordable solutions that can instantly make an organization more secure. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the experts and share personal stories of how they were impacted by cyber-related breaches. The summit will be split into two separate sessions, with the information on August 1st geared toward technology professionals (IT consultants, advisors, VARs, etc), and August 2nd geared toward business owners and leaders (CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, CISOs, IT management, etc).
“92 percent of data breaches are caused by human error,” said Bruce Wirt, Telesystem’s Chief Revenue Officer. “We started these summits because we were finding that most organizations don’t understand how vulnerable they really are, and even when they do, they don’t understand how easy it is to take cost affordable steps to seal any holes. This period of time in history will be looked back on as ‘World War 3’ or ‘Cyber War 1’, and the battle front is inside of every business in the US, whether they want it to be or not. Considering that we have such a large investment in the Philadelphia region, combined with our amazing partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies, it made great sense to have this event in Philadelphia at the ballpark. Telesystem believes that ‘IT is About Trust’, and one of the most important things a business leader can do for themselves is to learn who and what they can trust when it comes to their data.”
Telesystem has also partnered with Phillies Charities, the fundraising arm of the Phillies organization, to amplify their commitment to the Philadelphia region. Attendees will have the ability to donate to Phillies Charities at the event, with Telesystem donating $10,000 with the hope of reaching a total Summit goal of $20,000. Phillies Charities, Inc. raises money to award grants to charitable organizations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, and near the Phillies’ spring training and minor league affiliates.
“Telesystem has been a proud partner of the Phillies for two years now,” added Wirt. “We love the work that the Phillies do in the community for the neighborhoods in the Philadelphia region, and this will be the second year contributing to the cause. We are hoping that local businesses will work with us to contribute an additional $10,000 during the event.”
Seating for the event is limited, so guests are asked to register early. In person attendees will get to meet a Phillies legend each day, will be provided breakfast and lunch, and can stay after for a once-in-a-lifetime tour of the ballpark. For those unable to attend in person, attendees can also register to join the event virtually. All attendees, in person or virtual, will have the ability to participate, ask questions, and be entered to win their choice of a Philadelphia Phillies home-game ticket prize pack, or a Stanley® cooler and tumbler set.
Attendees can register at https://hackerssuck.com. There is no fee to register or attend the event on either day.
