Prince George, BC – Discover West Tourism is excited to announce initiatives to empower the local tourism industry in Alberta and British Columbia. As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to creating, developing and sustaining tourism in rural destinations through local programs and investments.
Supported by the Rural Destination Development Marketing Fund, Discover West Tourism will distribute funding to approved applicants for use in Western Canada’s rural tourism sector.
We are proud to invest in the city of Prince George, British Columbia. As the fourth largest city in BC, this northern gem has become synonymous with outdoor adventure opportunities nestled within the rugged beauty of the Canadian wilderness. With its vibrant downtown, surrounded by natural landscapes, and friendly locals, Prince George is home to some of British Columbia’s best opportunities to experience rural charm
Previous events sponsored by Discover West Tourism in Prince George have included local youth sporting events and Peace Motocross Association competitions.
By investing in local initiatives including sporting events, festivals and recreation opportunities, we believe we can fuel economic growth, connect communities, create jobs, inspire consumers, spur cultural growth and energize future developments.
The Discover West Tourism Marketing Funds allow us to enhance, increase and diversify year-round tourism in the communities where we operate. Additionally, they allow us to participate, when and where appropriate, in local programs that help promote the region as a tourist destination by creating sustainable funding for tourism marketing.
We look forward to even greater collaboration with local tourism associations and operators as we advance rural tourism.
