Princess Margaret Hospital announces safety incident of hospital facilities

The spokesman for Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) made the following announcement today (April 4) regarding a safety incident of hospital facilities:
A piece of plaster measuring approximately 25 centimetres by 10 centimetres fell from the ceiling of a covered walkway outside Block J this morning. No patients nor staff were injured, and patient service was also not affected.
PMH has conducted safety inspection on facilities and building structure, including the concerned walkway. Repair is scheduled to be completed within days at the concerned area. After the incident this morning, the hospital has promptly cordoned off and inspected the concerned area again and arranged immediate repairs so as to ensure the safety of patients and staff. The concerned building is 45 years old and the incident did not involve structural safety. The hospital has reported the incident to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
