Hospital Authority adjusts designated clinic and general out-patient clinic services

************************************************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced today (October 3) that the HA designated clinic for COVID-19 confirmed cases (designated clinic) located at Central Kowloon Health Centre will cease operation on October 6 and resume general out-patient clinic (GOPC) service on October 7. GOPCs will also resume some services which were partially suspended earlier, including the Sunday and public holiday and the evening clinic services, starting from October 7 (Annex I).

The HA spokesperson said, “Taking into consideration the recent epidemic developments and the demand for medical services from members of the public, the HA has reviewed the current operation situation and decided to cease the operation of a designated clinic, and to resume the partially suspended GOPC services in phases so as to provide appropriate treatment to patients in need.”

The seven remaining HA designated clinics and tele-consultations (Annex II) will continue to provide services and support for the confirmed patients in the community. Patients and their family members or carers can make an appointment with a designated clinic for an in-person consultation by calling the selected designated clinic during the booking and service hours or using the “Book Tele/DC” function on the HA’s one-stop mobile app “HA Go” to book an appointment for a designated clinic or tele-consultation service.

The spokesperson added that the HA will continue to closely monitor the epidemic situation and service demand, in order to resume more suspended services in accordance with the operational situation.
