Christopher W. McCann Recognized for Dedication to the Construction Industry

Having accrued more than 35 years of valuable expertise in his field, Mr. McCann has found success as a construction manager with Markley LLC, a telecommunications service provider based in Boston, Massachusetts. In this capacity, he is responsible for ensuring the proper construction of critical facilities, outlining safety plans and operations for employees, and preventing on-site incidents from occurring. Garnering considerable experience in the realms of civil engineering and construction management. Mr. McCann previously built a prolific career at Walsh Bros, Suffolk Construction, Skanska USA Building Inc. and the Parsons Corporation.

Among his career accomplishments, Mr. McCann is particularly proud to have been involved in the execution of construction on the Gillette Stadium Project, which serves as the home stadium of the New England Patriots. The project was completed in less than two year and earned his company a Build America Award from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Likewise, Mr. McCann managed the historical conversion of Harvard Stadium, where he supervised in the replacement of natural turf with artificial turf and field lighting for which he and his employer were the recipients of a Small Project Award from the AGC in 2006. Additionally, his team at Skanska received an AIA Project Award in 2001 for the Brockton Trial Court, a county courthouse in Brockton, Massachusetts.

In accounting for his success, Mr. McCann credits his ability to solve problems in conjunction with rigorous analytical methods learned in the field on a range of diverse refinery, newspaper, power, manufacturing and pharmaceutical projects in North America. Outside of his primary career endeavors, he has contributed as a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, with which his son, Cameron, is an Eagle Scout. Likewise, Mr. McCann has maintained his affiliation with CFC International, an organization that supports those living with cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome, such as his daughter, Regan.

Mr. McCann studied construction management at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he minored in architecture and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1987. Looking toward the future, he hopes to develop further professional relationships, and sharpen his integrated cost and schedule control skills. Similarly, Mr. McCann aspires to strike a more equitable balance between his career and his home life as he prepares for a well-deserved retirement.
