The Office of the Licensing Authority (OLA) under the Home Affairs Department is continuing to receive applications and has started to disburse subsidies to successful applicants under the Licensed Guesthouses Subsidy Scheme, the Club-house Subsidy Scheme, the Amusement Game Centres (AGCs) Subsidy Scheme and the Mahjong/Tin Kau (MJ/TK) Licence Holder Subsidy Scheme set up under the sixth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund.

The application period is running from February 17 to March 17 for the Licensed Guesthouses Subsidy Scheme and the Club-house Subsidy Scheme, and from February 21 to March 21 for the AGCs Subsidy Scheme and the MJ/TK Licence Holder Subsidy Scheme. As of today (March 11), the OLA has received a total of 1 880 applications under the four schemes. Among the applications received, 677 applications have been approved involving subsidies of around $65.6 million.

The Licensed Guesthouses Subsidy Scheme provides a subsidy of $50,000 (for those with one to five licensed guest rooms) or $80,000 (for those with six licensed guest rooms or more) to eligible holders of a valid guesthouse licence issued under the Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinance (Cap. 349). The Club-house Subsidy Scheme, the AGCs Subsidy Scheme and the MJ/TK Licence Holder Subsidy Scheme provide a subsidy of $100,000 to eligible holders of valid Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) issued under the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance (Cap. 376), amusement game centre operators and MJ/TK licence holders. An additional subsidy of $50,000 will be provided for each permit/licence for CoC holders who also operate karaoke establishments, nightclubs or bars/pubs in their clubhouse premises.

Eligible applicants should submit an application to the OLA as soon as possible. Details and the application forms for the above subsidy schemes are available on the website of the OLA (www.hadla.gov.hk).
