Canada’s nuclear regulator to hold a public webinar on New Brunswick Power’s licence renewal application for the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station.

OTTAWA, Ontario, February 25, 2022 – The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) would like to invite the media to an upcoming public webinar related to the licence renewal application from New Brunswick Power (NB Power) for the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station.

This webinar follows Part 1 of the public Commission hearing, held on January 26, 2022, and precedes Part 2, which will be held on May 11-12, 2022. (Documents related to Part 1 of the public Commission hearing)

This public webinar will:

provide information on NB Power’s renewal application
deliver a brief summary of CNSC staff’s recommendation to the Commission
explain how the public, Indigenous Nations and communities, and potential intervenors can participate in Part 2 of the hearing on May 11-12, 2022

Time:                 Noon to 1:30 pm EST (English session)
