Online briefing for candidates of 2021 Election Committee Subsector Ordinary Elections to be held on Thursday evening

The following is issued on behalf of the Electoral Affairs Commission:
 
     The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) will hold an online briefing for candidates of the 2021 Election Committee Subsector Ordinary Elections (ECSSOEs) at 7.30pm on Thursday (August 26).
 
     The EAC Chairman, Mr Justice Barnabas Fung Wah, will chair the briefing and brief candidates about the electoral arrangement for the ECSSOEs, the guidelines on election-related activities and important points to note in running their election campaigns. A representative from the Independent Commission Against Corruption will explain the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance. A representative from Hongkong Post will explain the arrangement and requirements of the free postage service for election mail. Representatives from the Registration and Electoral Office and the Department of Justice will also be present.
 
     The Registration and Electoral Office has issued invitations to candidates and election agents for registration to the online briefing. Successfully registered candidates/election agents will receive login details and points to note. During the question and answer session of the briefing, questions submitted online by candidates/election agents will be randomly selected by a computer system.
 
     Radio Television Hong Kong will provide live broadcast of the briefing on RTHK TV 32. The briefing will also be broadcast live on the website of the Information Services Department (webcast.info.gov.hk). Relevant information on the briefing and ECSSOEs will be available at the election website (www.elections.gov.hk) for viewing by the candidates and the general public.
