Fatal traffic accident in Sha Tau Kok

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sha Tau Kok this morning (August 22) in which a 29-year-old man died.

     At about 10.05am, a private car driven by a 32-year-old man and a motorcycle driven by the 29-year-old man were travelling along Bride’s Pool Road towards Tai Po in sequence. When approaching Kong Ha Au, the motorcycle reportedly cut the lane from behind and collided with the private car in the front. The motorcycle then lost control, dashed to the opposite lane and collided with a motorcycle driven by a 60-year-old man.

     Sustaining no superficial injury, the 29-year-old motorcycle driver was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.05am. The 60-year-old motorcycle driver sustained neck and waist injuries and was sent to North District Hospital in conscious state.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
