Having been in business for 28 years, we have seen every type of scam that targets Timeshare owners! Here is how to easily spot & avoid them!

The most common trait shared by every scam that targets Timeshare Owners is the attempt to convince you to pay a large upfront fee!

These scams use all sorts of creative and legitimate sounding upfront fees ranging from “Advertising Fee” to “Marketing Fee” to “Prepaid Closing Costs” to “Mexican Sales Tax”, you name it…we have heard it used to convince an unsuspecting owner it is legitimate.  Many of these companies now offer money back guarantees, which sounds nice however what is the value of a guarantee from someone who is already lying to you in an effort to extract hundreds if not thousands of dollars from you?

The simple fact is that there is no greater red flag out there than a company promising you they can buy/sell/rent/cancel your Timeshare, and then asking you to pay a large fee in advance of services rendered.  For those companies that claim 100% success, simply ask them why they cant collect that fee after said success?  You will hear all sorts of pitiful excuses if you ask this question, but none hold any water.  Again, companies that do this are expecting you to trust them yet at the same time are saying they simply do not trust you to pay after the service has been rendered!

If you wish to learn more details about the most common scams encountered by owners, we have compiled a list of them here, you will likely recognize many of them if you have been actively trying to sell or get rid of your Timeshare!  Timeshare Scams & other Fairy Tales
