LegCo congratulates Siobhan Bernadette Haughey on winning another silver medal for Hong Kong

Hong Kong swimming athlete Siobhan Bernadette Haughey this morning (July 30) made further achievement by taking another silver medal for HKSAR in the Women’s 100m Freestyle of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The President of the Legislative Council (LegCo), Mr Andrew Leung, on behalf of all LegCo Members, again extends congratulations to Haughey and her training team.
Mr Leung said, “Carrying the great momentum from the last race, Siobhan Bernadette Haughey has lived up to expectations by winning another silver medal in the Women’s 100m Freestyle after she medaled in the Women’s 200m Freestyle competition. She once again broke the Asian record and make history for the sports sector in Hong Kong.”
Mr Leung added, “Siobhan Bernadette Haughey has been going through tough training over the years. She consistently displays an optimistic and positive attitude, relentless perseverance and unparalleled determination. She is a role model to all of us and has touched every Hong Kong citizen’s heart.”
