After distinguishing himself in service to the U.S. Army, Mr. Burch received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Vanderbilt University and began working as a credit analyst at the Bank of New York, where he was able to gain fluency in many different industries. Following this period, he was recruited by Loeb Rhoades & Co., where he covered institutions in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia and Delaware. Mr. Burch was eventually promoted to the role of the vice president of institutional sales at Loeb Rhoades & Co., and held subsequent positions as the vice president of institutional sales at J.C. Bradford & Co. and the managing director of SunTrust Equitable Securities Corp. Presently, he serves as the president of Capital Markets Advisors LLC.
In addition to his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Burch was also named as the chairperson of the SIA Syndicate Committee, a position typically held by major bracket firms. He also previously served on the board of Equitable/Enskilda Bank. As a respected voice in his field, he co-authored the Capital Markets Handbook, and has written articles for such professional publications as the Magazine Museum of American Financial History. For his efforts throughout his career, Mr. Burch has received numerous military honors and medals. Outside of his vocational circles, he served as the president of the West Highland Rim Forestry Association, for which he was recognized as the Tree Farmer of the Year by the Tennessee Forestry Association.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Burch has attributed his professional success to patience, hard work, study and dedication. He has also used his mistakes as lessons to move forward in his career, and most enjoyed the challenges and competitive nature of his business. In addition, Mr. Burch learned much from influential figures such as Bill Cammack, the president and chairperson of Equitable Securities, Bruce Forester, co-editor of the Capital Market Handbook, and many other professionals at Loeb Rhoades & Co. in New York.
