The award-winning artist Vian Borchert has introduced a new series of acrylic paintings created specifically for Lichtundfire’s art exhibition “In Full Bloom.”
The online art magazine 300Magazine is pleased to share the news that the award-winning artist Vian Borchert has introduced a new series of acrylic paintings created specifically for “In Full Bloom,” a group exhibition hosted by Lichtundfire, New York. Vian Borchert’s new works are inspired by lavender and its amazing purple color that evokes feelings of happiness and rejuvenation. The exhibition runs at Lichtundfire, 175 Rivington Street, NY, through August 20, 2021.
Vian Borchert is an established contemporary expressionist artist whose works have been exhibited at a number of solo and group exhibitions within the United States and internationally and are in many private collections worldwide. Borchert’s art, which is mainly inspired by Mother Nature, reflects the artist’s identity, her hopes, aspiration, and dreams. It is a somewhat bridge that connects the past and the present with a sense of wonder to what the future holds. Vian Borchert is also an educator teaching art classes in the Washington metropolitan area.
For Lichtundfire’s art exhibition “In Full Bloom,” Vian Borchert created a new series of abstract paintings that the artist calls Lavender Fields Paintings. As the name suggests, these new works are inspired by lavender and the beautiful purple color with all its many hues. The lavender color has been especially meaningful to Vian Borchert in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic since she took an interest in planting lavender in her garden during quarantine.
Vian Borchert says, “I have found the plant to be resilient, poignant, beautifully gorgeous in its subdued purple hues and grayish blue-green stems and leaves. More importantly, the plant has therapeutic healing benefits and uplifting aspects through its perfume, making it a great source of relaxation in stressful times.” All these fantastic properties and characteristics of the lavender, along with the amazing views of the lavender fields, inspired Vian Borchert to create Lavender Fields Paintings that are now featured at Lichtundfire’s “In Full Bloom” exhibit.
“In Full Bloom” is a group exhibition featuring artworks in a wide range of media, from painting to mixed media to works on paper, all addressing the depiction of plant life, vegetation, floral motifs, and the rich landscape of a season indicative of bloom and growth. These include works by Vian Borchert, Martin Weinstein, Mark Kurdziel, Bobbie Moline-Kramer, Jane Fire, Robert Solomon, Robert Jessel, and Philip Gerstein. The art exhibition is based on the concept by Lichtundfire’s director Priska Juschka. The show is on view at the gallery through August 20, 2021.
