Shifting back to office culture in post lockdown period

After being cooped up inside the four walls of our homes for the past few months, it’s high time to go back to our ‘office life’. Now that the lockdown has lifted, people are eager to resume their work as soon as possible. Four months of lockdown has introduced us to the Work from Home culture and forced us to acknowledge how far we have adapted ourselves with new-age technologies and internet services. And now in this post lockdown period, we are being summoned back to our good old office culture. But how long will it take for us to shift from work from home to office culture? And more importantly, are we prepared to go through this transition again?
An employee must be mentally and physically prepared before joining the office. However, they would have to face this transition from home to office as soon as they can otherwise it may affect their work and efficiency. Suffice to say, work will start getting speedy at offices. Employees will have to engage themselves in full work mode to compensate for the loss they have suffered in the past few months. They would have to increase their efficiency and double their efforts to achieve targets. According to Mr. Atul Malikram, founder of a renowned public relations firm, “This lockdown has brought forth many changes in the business world. We know the shift from work from home culture to the office will not be easier. A lot has changed in this corona period. We have to evolve ourselves with time if we want to survive in this stiff economy. Employees should be encouraged to improve their mental health.”
If you are thinking that once you go back to your workspace everything will go normal as it was before, then you are wrong. Many organizations have changed their guidelines and policies according to the current scenario. It should be remembered that even though the Government has lifted the restrictions, the threat of Corona is not eliminated. Proper precautions and safety measures are to be taken in workspaces. Moreover, employees will find it difficult to adjust themselves in their workspaces. After spending such a long time at home, they will find it hard to leave the sanctuary of their family even if it is only for a few hours. Further, it is crucial to have a harmonious balance between home and work. Studies have proved that having a good work-life balance is important for mental health.
When you return to your office, everything will look different. Instead of reminiscing about your old days, start afresh with renewed vigor and energy to increase your productivity. Remember, the pandemic may have altered your path to success, but it has not changed your goals.
