While Qualtec offers several courses, one of the courses that is being offered is the Working at Heights Instructor Course. The class would be held at Glenroyal Hotel on the 30th of July, 2019 at 8.30 AM. There are several positive outcomes of this course as the candidates will learn about all the required skills and knowledge to instruct people in safe Working at Height practices. The candidates will also be able to qualify them to inspect and certify Personnel Harness & Lanyard Systems to a GA1 Standard (Report Working at Heights Instructor Course of Thorough Examination). The candidates would know about the legislation in relation to Health & Safety and will be able to work at heights with a greater safety. The candidates will know to inspect the lifting equipment and will also be able to certify the safety standards. The candidates will also know the definition of working at height and will be aware of how to work safely on roofs. Ladder safety awareness will increase and the workers will be able to work confidently at height from MEWPS. Other outcomes of the course include Mobile Access Towers Safety Awareness, Scaffolding Safety Awareness, Excavations in relation to Working at Height, Fall Arrest and Fall Restraint Systems, Risk Assessments for Working at Height, Suspension Trauma and Rescue Plans, Inspection, Auditing and Certification of Harness / Lanyard Systems to GA1 Standard.
In order to join the course, the candidate requires to have a very good understanding of English, both oral and written. It is also highly recommended that the candidates have a QQI Level 6 Training Qualification in case they intend delivering instruction or training on a commercial basis. This course is for experienced trainers with an existing training qualification. The duration of this course is one day and the second day is for assessment. Tea, Coffee and Lunch will be provided on the full day course. On completion of the Working at Heights Instructor course, the candidates will receive a Working at Height Instructor Certificate and Harness / Lanyard Inspectors Card. The candidates who complete all practical and theory assessments successfully will be given with all the required material to deliver Heights Instruction and perform Harness / Lanyard Inspections to a GAI Standard. The material would include Course Notes, PowerPoint, Health & Safety Legislation in relation to Working at Heights and WAH Equipment Certification, Trainee Assessment Sheets, Inspection Sheets and many more.
