Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, May 23, 2020 – Many homeowners ignore their faucets until they malfunction. It is always best to ensure that your faucets are in perfect working condition. Faulty faucets can ruin important occasions when you least expect it, for instance, when going for a job interview, while hosting your in-laws or planning a beautiful night at home. Here are the common faucet problems that you may experience.

Water leakage/dripping

Water dripping from the faucet or sink is one of the most common problems that people experience. The sound of water drops hitting the surface can be quite irritating and can also result in a lot of water wastage. You do not have to replace your kitchen faucets because of water leakage. All you need is a few tools and the right replacement parts. This is because leaking may be caused by screws or faucet parts that were not properly fixed or tightened.

Low water pressure

Low pressure means that water flows from your faucet in a thin line instead of the adequate and constant flow that you are used to. Low water pressure is mainly caused by a buildup of debris or mineral deposits on the main water pipe. To increase the water pressure, you need to clean the debris or limescale buildup. You need to remove the faucet and then clean the parts with vinegar to remove sediments and restore water pressure. If the problem is still persistent, you should call a professional plumber.

Installation problems

Improper installation problems are quite common today owing to DIY aficionados. Installing a faucet on your own is not a problem. However, ensure that you carefully read and understand the instructions provided on the manual and get all necessary tools before beginning your installation. Poor installation can result in leaks owing to loose parts. Some faucet parts may also be damaged or lost and this may force you to buy a new set. To avoid all these problems, it is best to have a plumber install your faucets.

Excessive faucet noise

Your faucet may produce screaming, whistling or chatter-like noises when water is flowing through them. This is a sign of a problem and you should consult your plumbing expert to determine the root cause of the problem. In most cases, a loose washer is the cause of this noise. However, if tightening or replacing the washer with the right size does not fix this issue, then there may be problems with the pipes.

Corrosion

With time and continuous use, even the best faucets will age. When this happens, internal components of the faucets may start corroding. Rust will reduce the performance of your faucets. Furthermore, water that is filled with rust sediments is not ideal for your health. If your faucet is corroded, you will have to replace it with a new one. You plumber can help you with the replacement process.

Most of the common problems facing faucets are quite easy to solve. Sometimes, all you need are a few tools and you can handle the problem within a few minutes. However, if the problem is persistent or beyond your scope, it is always best to call professional plumbers to handle the issue.
