Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, stay-at-home orders and dine-in restrictions, fast casual Mexican restaurant chain Ori’Zaba’s just reported record-breaking single day sales.
Ori’Zaba’s marked the largest sales day ever in the history of the company on Cinco de Mayo. The company credits its strong showing on the holiday to its brand appeal and ability to adapt in light of the pandemic. While the company already offered proven, flexible dining options, during COVID-19, Ori’Zaba’s took additional steps to streamline online ordering and make it even more convenient for customers to enjoy its food, including:
• Call-in orders for less tech-savvy customers
• Continued delivery through DoorDash, GrubHub and Postmates
• Family-sized catering packages
• Grocery/alcohol options
While all these options include Ori’Zaba’s fresh, award-winning menu items that can be ordered a la carte or in combos, on Cinco de Mayo, the company also offered specials. All day, customers could enjoy any classic entrée, with any meat option, for just $6.

Operationally, the company has also implemented strict protocols to ensure the safety of its employees and customers during the pandemic. These include encouraging sick employees to stay home, requiring face coverings, and performing rigorous cleaning and disinfection at all of its locations.
