Indian Institute of Finance hosted the 12th IIF Webinar series on “Essence of Life and Growth” by Dr. Poonam Sethi, Associate Professor, University of Delhi, Hindu College, Delhi, INDIA. The Webinar was moderated by Prof. Aman Agarwal, Professor of Finance & Dean (IR) Indian Institute of Finance ( www.iif.edu) and Executive Editor, Finance India ( www.financeindia.org). The Webinar was attended by over 73 global participants from USA, UK, Japan, Sweden, France, Malaysia, India and others.

Dr. Sethi put down 3 attributes defining this Essence as Dharma (the eternal order), Karma (the actions) and Vishwas (the Faith). Dharma nurtures the subjects and in turn the society leading to orderly existence and perpetual evolution of individuals, Karma is the common sense approach to living in awareness of what we do and what are the consequences and Vishwas is the inner conviction, a Trust relating human beings to a supreme power providing strength to move forward in times of adversity, so be your own cheerleader and fuel your motivation.

India is moving strong. The period of next six months would be time of resurrection and restructuring. Corporate need to do heavy rethinking to reformulate the policies which would need to accommodate the changed circumstances said Dr. Sethi. Conservation would be a mantra of human resource. Every person would have to prove their metal in the given time. It is essential to bring change in ourselves to deal with COVID 19 crisis. Government should focus on happy living feels Dr. Sethi. According to her, the key success mantra is to unlearn the past and look towards to newer models which would lead to new opportunities for future.

Life has an unpredictable nature but life goes on. It goes from one crisis to the other enabling us establish the certainty in uncertainty. Life should always be in a balance. We are now moving towards sustainability not just only growth but in social and interpersonal lives said Dr. Sethi.
