Stepping up the battle against COVID-19 pandemic, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) employees contributed two days’ salary amounting to Rs 2,70,50,000/- (Rupees Two Crores Seventy Lacs Fifty Thousand) towards Prime Minister’s ‘PM CARES’ Fund.
BBMB is a pioneer organisation in water and power sector and committed to providing continuous water and power to the country’s northern region.
DK Sharma, Chairman BBMB thanked all the employees for their kind gesture at this crucial juncture. He thanked officers and staff of BBMB and security staff from State Governments of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab for maintaining essential services of supply of water, electricity generation and transmission during the period of lockdown.
He also thanked doctors, nurses and para-medical staff who are involved in maintaining medical services in the country. Mr Sharma appealed to all Project Heads to continue to help daily wage labourers by providing them cooked food and ration items at all its project stations i.e. Nangal, Talwara, BSL Project at Sundernagar and also at BBMB headquarter at Chandigarh.
