Tata Consultancy Services’ Machine First™ Approach Helped Compress End-to-End Test Cycles by 90 Percent in Aviva’s Ongoing Cloud Transformation Programme

LONDON | MUMBAI, January 3, 2020: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, announced that its customer Aviva Plc won the European Software Testing Award 2019 in the category Best Use of Technology in a Project, for the Cloud Assurance Accelerator Framework developed by TCS. This framework helped drastically compress test cycles in the ongoing cloud transformation programme undertaken by Aviva in partnership with TCS.

As part of its IT modernisation and simplification strategy, Aviva has embarked on a transformation journey to move to cloud-based services with increased automation, ensuring competitive advantage and delivering improved operational resilience, enhanced security, and improved service for its frontline teams. This entailed the migration of over 300 applications and 1,200 servers to a robust, scalable, and ‘always-on’ system.
To accelerate the migration, TCS developed and implemented a versatile Cloud Assurance Accelerator Framework powered by its Machine First™ approach, covering assurance for both infrastructure and applications. Through short test cycles leveraging automated test packs integrated with DevOps principles, the framework ensures speed, security, scalability and reliability. It has reduced the test cycle for end-to-end application migration by 90 percent.

“Aviva’s IT strategy is focused on simplifying and modernising our business to deliver excellent service to our customers. Part of this is moving key systems from data centres to the cloud and we partnered with TCS to drive innovation and set an aggressive delivery pace without compromising on quality. The innovative thinking, smart technology choices, shared passion and team-work helped to successfully migrate our most important customer applications at pace,” said Rob Hills, Head, Assurance, Release & Agile Transformation, Aviva. “We look forward to continuing our rich partnership and spirit of collaboration in delivering for Aviva’s customers.”

“We are pleased that the Aviva-TCS project has been recognized with this prestigious award,” said Vinay Singhvi, Business Unit Head, BFSI – UK and Ireland, TCS. “This award is a recognition of the excellent work that TCS does with a number of insurers and financial organisations accelerating their Business 4.0™ transformation journeys. We continue to demonstrate our deep expertise in this area when partners, like Aviva, invite us to participate in their strategic vision to expand the boundaries of innovation and present a value proposition that may not have otherwise seemed possible.”
