Sagar Public School hosted Folk Song Competition

Promoting the Indian Culture, folk and skills, Sagar Public School, Rohit Nagar Campus hosted Ninaad Sahodaya Inter School Folk Song Competition at its campus.

Over 20 schools and 300 students from state participated in the competition enthusiastically in colorful folk attire to win the prestigious inter school folk song competition. The competition was graced by presence of famous Pandwani singer of International repute Ritu Verma as Chief Guest in presence of Salil Sakalle, Sangeet Visarad & Folk Song Writer-Performer, ‘A’ Artist at All India Radio & Doordarshan Kendra, Bhopal as Guest of Honor for the competition.

The competition commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest in presence of Jaishree Kanwar – Director Sagar Public School, Madhubala Chauhan – Principal Sagar Public School Rohit Nagar, key dignitaries, guests, teachers and students. Participants were welcomed by the Principal of school with a note that music is life which adds happiness to our lives and folk music is an attitude to way of life.

Talented participants from 20 teams across Madhya Pradesh in colorful folk attire registered in ‘Taal’ codes (hiding their school identity) performed one by one on the folk songs of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh showcasing tradition, culture and values.

The choir from the participants of school mesmerized the audience with all the presentations made by students with Delhi Public School, Neelbad winning the competition and Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar bagging the runners up trophy. The Competition concluded with presentation of folk song by Sagarites of Sagar Public School, Rohit Nagar in Jabalpuria language folk song ‘Hum Hai MP Wale, Hum Hai MP Aa Re …’ with a social message of ‘Save Narmada, Don’t Pollute Narmada’ followed by vote of thanks to everyone present at the competition.
