In a bid to support women empowerment, Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) today organized its Annual Rewards and Recognition and Cultural Event for ABHA Members wherein the efforts and achievements of 841 abha members for the year 2018-19 from 220 JJ clusters were recognized. The event was conducted by Cultural Club working under the Special Consumer Group.
ABHA Members are women representatives who are engaged in reaching out to the residents of JJ clusters in order to maximize the visibility and benefits of community initiatives being run by Tata Power-DDL. The initiative helps to empower impoverished sections of the society.
A total of 150 ABHAs were recognized and honoured for their contribution to bring in the change in the today event. Special prizes were given to ABHAs who have maximised digital payments, extended maximum contribution in customer delight & shared highest number of innovative ideas. A special award for ABHAs reporting maximum safety incidents and spreading safety awareness amongst JJ residents was also given. The prizes included LED TVs, TATA Swach Water Purifier, Smartphones, etc.
Addressing the participants at the event, Mr. Sanjay Banga, CEO, Tata Power-DDL said, “We at Tata Power- DDL continue to work towards the upliftment of the underprivileged section of the society, specially women, by empowering them through focused social innovation initiatives. The ABHA initiative helps women to empower themselves both socially, with improved personality & respect in the society, as well as financially by having a regular income.”
