SFFP Media release: Labor must come clean

SFFP Tas calls on Labor, both state and Federal to clarify their position on Tasmanian’s recovering Forestry Industry. Several Labor candidates have given conflicting accounts of the possible Labor/Green plan to lock up a further an additional 356,000 hectares of Tasmania under the previous Green/Labor constructed TFA plan of 2013.

Federal members Mr B Mitchell and Mr Ross Hart have apparently both directly contradicted each other in separate discussions with concerned timber industry advocate.
Candidate for LC Ms Michelle Rippon states the TFA is a thing of the past. ….. yet it still listed on Labor’s Policy Platform in Chapter 4 , page 84 , paragraph 73 under the curious heading of “ Environment” . Mr Mitchell has stated the further lock ups of land under the TFA will proceed, while Mr Hart claims they won’t.

Federal Shadow Minister Mr Fitzgibbon MUST clarify the position at the Forestry Debate in Launceston Wednesday May 1. Tasmanians need know if Labor working for the Greens again, on a further secret plan to force further lockups to Tasmania’s resources.

Tasmania Timber industry and rural & regional communities are just recovering from the disaster that was the LABOR/GREEN Accord… No More Forestry lock ups.
