MIAMI (January 24, 2019) – Nationally recognized public accounting firm, MBAF, is proud to announce that Marjorie Horwin, managing principal of the firm’s Boca Raton office, and principal-in-charge of the Private Wealth Services group, has been named a 2019 Influential Business Woman by the South Florida Business Journal (SFBJ).
The SFBJ Influential Business Woman Awards, now in its 12th year, recognizes 25 top women business executives from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The honorees will be recognized at an awards luncheon at the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale on March 15th.
Horwin has been in the accounting industry for over three decades practicing in the area of income, estate, trust, and exempt organization tax planning and compliance. Additionally, Horwin specializes in working with high net worth individuals and owners of closely held businesses to develop integrated lifetime and testamentary plans that minimize income and transfer taxes, provide asset protection, facilitate business succession, and address retirement and charitable planning issues.
Concentrating on family wealth preservation, Horwin works closely with her clients to identify their income and estate planning objectives. She also has extensive experience in the areas of income, trust, gift, and estate tax planning and compliance. Marjorie’s expertise includes federal and state tax compliance, partnership accounting, and valuation as it pertains to income, estate, and gift tax planning. In addition, Marjorie represents clients in income, gift, and estate tax examinations, provides litigation support for estate and trust controversies, and consults on international income and estate planning tax issues.
An active member in the South Florida community, Horwin actively participates in several professional and charitable organizations. She is a frequent lecturer and has been published in countless publications including the Wall Street Journal.
She is a University of Miami alumna where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and her master’s degree in Taxation.
