Sales Rain opens the year with a successful event held last Saturday, January 12, in its well-acclaimed Mandaluyong office.
The company has teamed up with the student digital media organization, RedWire, to organize U Empowerment: Going Up and Beyond Limits; a one-day seminar and workshop for the aspiring creatives of the young generation. The said event consisted of talks on leadership, digital arts, writing, photography, and videography, as well as special hands-on training on the topics as mentioned earlier, led by today’s proficient professionals.
Former TomasinoWeb President and teacher in Marist School Marikina, Miguel Villon, started the day with an inspiring session on leadership and loving what you do. Mr. Villon also guided participants to several activities that strengthen their relationship with one another. UE-Caloocan Magna Cum Laude Graduate John Patrick Gañas then shared his story of becoming a Digital Artist and Illustrator with the crowd. Multi-platform Writer and former Editor-In-Chief of TomasinoWeb Xave Gregorio discussed important points on online journalism for University media and former Chief Photographer of TomasinoWeb, Bria Cardenas, also talked about covering campus events. Lastly, Pixelens’ Managing Director and former Videography Team Lead of TomasinoWeb, Jom Lirios, covered the basics of video production for campus media. The rest of the day was allocated to a 3-hour workshop wherein the attendees were given a chance to interact with the featured speakers.
U Empowerment is the first gathering arranged by Sales Rain‘s Pickles Production, its very own event organizers. Each month the team will partner up with a local organization or community to host an event showcasing its people and their respective talents.
