Sri Lanka sets a target of 274 for India to win Asia Cup

After a shaky start, Sri Lanka has posted a challenging total of 274 for India. The total was made largely due to contribution of 39 year old Sanath Jayasuriya who scored 125 off just 114 balls with 9 fours and 5 huge sixes.

He was aided by patient Tilakratne Dilshan, who scored 56 of 74 balls. Kulasekara provided respect to the Lankan total at the end with an unbeaten run a ball 29.

Ishant Sharma and R P Singh claimed 3 wickets each and Ifran Pathan picked 2 wickets.

Indian success is also largely due to accurate bowling of spinners. Ojha, Sehwag and Rohit Sharma bowled 21 overs between them with a run rate of less than four. Ojha was the pick of the bowlers with 38 off 10 overs.

The pitch is playing well and India should consider the total gettable. But with Lankans, you can always expect a strong fight.
