PhonePe Partners with Star Health Insurance to Offer Insurance with Monthly Payment Options

PhonePe today announced a partnership with Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd. (Star Health Insurance), India’s largest retail health insurance Company, to offer customers health insurance with a monthly and annual payment option. With this partnership, PhonePe users will now be able to avail of ‘Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy’ on the PhonePe app with coverage up to Rs.1 Crore. Having previously disrupted the market with its motor insurance products, with this launch, PhonePe further expands the options available to its users in the health insurance category.

 

Through this partnership, for the first time, Star Health Insurance’s Comprehensive Health Insurance will be offered to customers with a monthly premium payment plan, pioneered by PhonePe – a first-of-its-kind initiative in the industry. Users can also opt to pay their premium with the UPI AutoPay mandate and enjoy added convenience. This move was driven by a critical insight that smaller monthly payments ease the financial burden for users while empowering and enabling them to opt for more extensive insurance coverage without stretching their finances.

 

Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy is a power-packed insurance plan with benefits including the most popular OPD and maternity coverage. Market research conducted with PhonePe’s user base indicates that these two features were the most preferred by customers while buying health insurance. Star Comprehensive Health Insurance Policy is an end-to-end health insurance policy with sum insured available up to Rs.1 crore. The policy covers road ambulance and air ambulance expenses, out-patient medical consultation up to the limits, out-patient coverage for dental and Ophthalmic treatment, delivery expenses, organ donor expenses, provides coverage for newborn babies, including any congenital disorders, from day one of birth and vaccination expenses of the new born until the baby completes one year. Mental well-being is covered up to the sum insured. The policy does not impose sub-limits for day care procedures. Accidental death and permanent total disablement is covered up to 1 crore.

 

Star Comprehensive Health Insurance Policy also offers wellness programmes that provide discounts on premiums and condition management programmes. Furthermore, the policy provides an annual health check-up, automatic restoration of the sum insured up to 100%, and a cumulative bonus, payable up to 100% of the basic sum insured.

Users can purchase the policy via the PhonePe app by clicking on the Health Insurance option, selecting the members to be insured, the desired sum to be insured and the payment tenure. Here, they can choose either monthly EMIs or annual payments and then select the  policy of their choice. Once they opt for the policy, the customer’s have to fill in their details, such as name, age, and gender, followed by the health history of all members to be insured. This will be followed by a regulator mandated Know Your Customer (KYC) form and declarations, once the payment is completed.

 

Star Health, in association with PhonePe, plans to roll out more such innovative offerings across its indemnity and benefit products.

NMIMS Chandigarh’s STME Conducts InnovateX Hackathon – Encourages Students to Leverage Technology for Societal Good

NMIMS Chandigarh School of Technology Management’s (STME) Matrixx Technical Club and ACM chapter organised the ‘InnovateX Hackathon’, a first-ever Intra-college two-day hackathon on campus premises.  Held under the guidance of Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Associate Dean, STME and Faculty Coordinators Dr. Jagpreet and Dr. Aditya Bakshi, the theme of the hackathon was ‘Tech for Social Impact’. It was dedicated to harnessing technology for positive social change and urging students to bring out their creative capabilities to develop solutions that have a meaningful impact on society. The event brought together all STME students to collaborate, innovate and develop prototypes of tech-driven solutions.

The participating students worked on various problem statements such as a Health and Wellness Platform- Developing solutions to improve access to healthcare services and promote well-being; a Navigation App for Blind People – Designing navigation aids to assist visually impaired individuals; a Financial Empowerment App – Crafting digital platforms to promote financial literacy and facilitate effective money management; an Education Accessibility Portal – Creating tools to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in education, and Accessible Transportation Solutions – Building systems to optimise transportation routes and enhance public transit accessibility.

The judges for the hackathon were domain and technical experts, Mr. Kundan Munjal, Chief Operating Officer, Zenmonk Technologies, Mohali, and Mr. Anoop Jain, CTO and Enterprise Architect, UCule Computing Pvt Ltd. (FIS), Mohali. Meanwhile, the student coordinators for the event were Mr. Agamjot Singh, Ms. Bhavya Jha, Mr. Anoop Gupta and Mr. Manjot Singh.

The two-day coding event saw 8 teams of 5 members each presenting their ideas on one of the themes to mentors and judges. Through three rounds of evaluations of the hackathon, students empathised and defined their problems, and presented their solutions in front of judges in the form of live demonstrations.

On the concluding day, Mr. Munjal and Mr. Jain evaluated the prototypes developed by the participating groups. The judging criteria included aspects such as innovation, feasibility, impact, scalability and presentation quality of the ideas put forth by the students.

Team 2 secured the first position for their Education Accessibility Platform. Led by Agamjot Singh Monga, the team consisted of Manjot Singh Jolly, Aarushi Vashist, Sarisht Sharma, and Saksham Tripathi. Following closely behind, Team 4 clinched the second position with their Finance Management Platform. Bhavya Jha led the team, which included members Raghav Yogi, Taranjot Singh, Ryan Kukreti, and Bhuvnesh Wadhwa.

The unique prototypes presented at the hackathon saw a display of a range of innovative ideas and approaches and showed the students’ dedication to leveraging technology for social good.

Adani Gangavaram Port achieves a new record in handling Rakes & Cargo

Adani Gangavaram Port the deepest and the most modern port in the country today set a new record of handling 7,473 rakes in FY 24 and also achieving a 20% of the year on year growth.

 

AGPL is on track to achieve its highest ever annual cargo of 37.24 MMT for the financial year 2023-2024 and also achieve a 15% of the year on year growth.

 

The port is poised to offer the best services in the Container Trade and is scheduled to inaugurate its state-of-the-art integrated Container Scanner Facility on 03rd April 2024. The Container Terminal of 5 Lac TEU Capacity with integrated Railway facility shall welcome its first EXIM container service from 17th April, 2024. The Terminal will enable new trade routes & international markets to the industry.

 

The port has been able to surpass its previous records as management has made strategic investments in infrastructure for efficient cargo handling and railway facilities. The port expects to set further operational records in FY24 and deliver Industry Best Services to its customers.
